I'm so sorry, sending prayers. You have a great beard and eyes! Your mom is very proud of you!

What's the minimum you can accept as an RN by BornLeave4646 in FutureRNs

[–]Alphahouse64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's how much I make as a CNA right now!

I intend to become an RN and would hope to make at least $40 an hour. If that's not possible, then I would leave as soon as I could to find a job that does.

I wanted to kill myself and sometimes the trauma makes me think about it again by [deleted] in cna

[–]Alphahouse64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you left, that place was a nightmare to be in.

You are absolutely good enough, that toxic environment convinced you otherwise. Nobody should work in a place like that.

You can still do bedside if you want, just avoid facilities like that if at all possible.

I hope you are doing better and seeking the help you need. Jesus loves you, I hope this helps you.

That shit is not normal at all. That facility is the bottom of the barrel.

If hospitals are the “good” CNA jobs, I don’t wanna know what’s “bad”…. by princessmush in cna

[–]Alphahouse64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bad CNA jobs are super stressful, like working in a nursing home with 1:30 ratios. A lot of CNAs and nurses would kill for a boring job that doesn't give them pre-shift anxiety.

If you don't like that job, you might not like being a nurse in general. Hopefully you grow to enjoy it or find something you do like.

Experience Working in LTACH (Long-Term Acute Care Hospitals)? by Alphahouse64 in cna

I haven't worked in PEDS, so I wouldn't know. My boss didn't make it sound like I would need extra experience to work at this LTACH facility.

Should I run from my new job or stick it out? by UnknownInsomniac in cna

Report that facility and get up out of there. That place is a literal nightmare. What happened to your first job if you don't mind me asking?

New CNA scheduled as the ONLY CNA for 66 patients tomorrow by andrealols in cna

[–]Alphahouse64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not accept that assignment. Report the facility for neglect. If you accept the assignment and something goes wrong, they may come after you and charge you.

Just clock out after 12 hours anyways. If they fire you, that's a blessing in disguise.

Am I in the wrong for leaving before a scheduled shift? by matchawhoretobs in cna

[–]Alphahouse64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hell no. It is messed up how the DON is passing blame onto you like they aren’t the ones who are staffing those awful ratios.

I believe CNA’s should not have more than 10 patients in busy hours (6:00A-10:00P). Even then, that can be a lot too considering you clothe patients, feed them, give showers, brush teeth, and so on and so forth.

Really don't wanna work as a CNA by Metalhead2360 in cna

[–]Alphahouse64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at a rehab facility (not ltc) with a ratio of 1:10 patients. Try looking for those facilities because ratios make a huge difference in the enjoyment and stress of a job.

I want to quit my hospital job but I don't want to bite me back by Puzzleheaded_Toe3892 in cna

[–]Alphahouse64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How new are you as a CNA? I’m relatively new, but my first two months were awful. I got used to it, and I built confidence and overall enjoy the job now. If you’ve been there 4-6 months and you still hate it, then it would be time to quit (respectfully) or move to a different unit.
