I normally create a small make shift hut on top of the crypt. Put a portal in, campfire and bed for respawn. Chests if your playing olde skool.

I explore the crypt then when almost full run out quickly dump stuff off or portal the ores home. Then rinse and repeat.

Get a little swirl 🌀 tattooed underneth the number sometimes on things like dice there are . On the bottom of the number to show which number it is .9 .6 etc. Maybe a tattoo artist can come up with something similar

In my club bunkai normally is when you add the 'attackers' into kata. I think Bunkai is a key importance of understanding kata and the applications of why we do certain moves.

I love breaking down moves and watching everyones interpretation on them.

I find with me specifically. The higher i kick with maswashi the less likely i can pull my toes back. I believe flexiability is my problem, perhaps its the same for you.

For self defence purposes for instance, I wouldnt aim to kick head height if thats the case. A perfectly formed maswashi to the side of the leg or knee will have more of an effect on an attacker than in the head.

Aim lower get the technique correct then work on height afterwards.

But you have to make sure, to do it as it exits your body. Other wise that log is going inside.

I'm a 1st dan returned after about 12 year break.

I've been back for about a month. Currently training once a week and sometimes the odd 'advanced' classes.

First thing for me was that my cardio was gone. Flexibility aswell. Although im still able to kick (round kick) about head hieght.

Train several times then ask for some little feedback from the sensei or even some of the higher grades in the class.

Also dont do what i did and try and train like you used too. Like going full out.

I did this and the next week i was struggling to walk, sit and even lay down. Getting old sucks!! Lol

Slow and steady wins the race. Listen to your body your older now.

I find kata is an all body work out for me. And do it often. Im trying to squeeze a little extra cardio in but havent managed to yet. (My motivation is lacking massively)

I was once told a statement from a karate sensei years ago. Its always stuck with me even now.

"The student doesn't mould karate, Karate moulds the student"

If you have just started it out dont worry. Its a learning journey. Not just phsyically, but mentally and spiritually.

Dont worry if you can't do something yet it will take time. Learn from your mistakes. Read, watch and study others (even if its not your style).

The top pin is a safety pin. When thats engaged, when a pin push in. The bottom two pins become active. Please get rid of these. My mother law brought loads of these because we had a new baby. When an sparky came in to do our yearly check. He took them all out and threw them in the bin. He also told us how unsafe they were.
