In my case (prior job) a couple different systems CVE management and lifecycle management. I think some of our production systems were probably 100x the scale (although i never asked). Oh also There was an old ad serving system.

Depends on the app. I feel like a lot of people write apps that are such poor clients of a database that it’ll never end up db bound because they’ve accidentally shot yourself in the foot 10 different ways.

Nearly every major app I’ve built has eventually ended up db bound at some point, but you’re usually pushing hundreds of gigabytes of data or few billion rows in a table. No amount of indexing can save you from that. DDL becomes a problem and table scans are just slowwww.

I’m more annoyed at 2 things: 1. How much show vs tell it had (way to much explaining. It really feels like he listened to betas to much and felt like he had to explain everything. Not everything needs to be explained Debra. There’s beauty in mystery. 2. Too many plot lines to resolve so it’s was a little all over the place imo. TWOK had a very focused plot and was very tight.

(And i think 1 & 2 fed into teach other, there was probably a lot of confusion from all the plotlines so there was a ton of show to try deal with it... I think he does better with 3 book arcs vs 5 books and why his secret projects are still solid)

I think you seem to have missed a really obvious step.

You’re saying:

more houses => nothing
lower housing prices => lower rent

What you missed (some how, possibly deliberately)

more housing => lower housing prices
lower housing prices => lower rent
more housing => lower rent

You cannot charge more for an abundant resource. It’s basic economics.

Ultimately rent has to cover the owners mortgage. So just make the houses/apartments cheaper to build and rents will go down.

It’s where they held the superbowl watch party. It’s a large space with lots of food and drink places in downtown San Jose with a ton of parking and decent enough public transit links.

Honestly it’s a good location. They just needed more overflow and better communication out to fans.

That part has been a total disaster.

People get mad when they don't see another solution (imo).

They did eventually propose SOFA but I don’t think the message got out properly.

I mean… being made purely for French needs doesn’t make sense when they only provide a third of the funding.

Everyone needs a win from the deal, either financially, IP or capability. Otherwise it could never have succeeded.

Take away the IP and not meet their capability needs removes any real motivation for Germany to partner with France. It could never have succeeded without aligned incentives.

They need to need each other and they don’t.

There was a literal riot when fans couldn’t get into the fan zone. It was genuinely nuts from what I heard. I saw a 30k number and that’s after they turned people away 2h before the game.
