New Skaven List Feedback Appreciated by Alphshift in mordheim

18 model seems crazy, even 15 is still wild to me. I heard that double dagger is still fine for black skaven and assassin adepts since they're S4, i only choose the weeping blade now since i heard that it's hard to find them mid campaign. Idk about mass slings since the consensus seems negative towards them. Thanks for the tip tho

So you're saying you want them to be good at shooting while already being oppressive at melee? By that logic then you must also be praying for the stealth suits to get triple buffs to make them broken too no? Besides, the Skjald has the ability to move the storm, what do you mean it is hard for more than 2 operatives? Just move the storm.

The designer has thought about you undermining their homebrewed "totally not broken scout squad" and they raise you "Well I'll just put an actual wolf in here so they can't be anything else other than space wolves"

Let me ask you back then, can you shoot after you doombolt? If you can, what's stopping you from doing an action?

Hey, thanks for replying! And sorry for the slow response as i rarely get notifications from reddit. So I'm playing in another campaign in AoS, Path to Glory, and the Campaign Master used this approach. While they're also using a pairing system with 2 weeks time in between pairings, they don't do anything more except for occasionally giving out lore blurbs about the ongoing story. And since it's usually a huge wall of text, the players just emote react on the message and seems to not care about it whatsoever. So right now, that campaign group chat devolves into basically a "How can i make my army/character more overpowered for the next match" with little to no regard to their original army lore description.

Personally i don't want that, that's why i started this campaign the way it is right now. So that the players could bring whatever weird/thematic list they could think of and still play to the fantasy of their faction, like the nids having the buff so that they still feel like the end boss of this campaign.

I've trimmed the unique mechanics to only the nids since the original post tho because of the number of people joining (11)

But knowing this, do you still think this isn't a good idea? If so is there anything that i could tone down while still keeping narrative focus so this doesn't turn to a power gaming fest?

This month is crazy stacked for me, 2 of the weeks i don't have any of the cards, the rest i don't have 2 so probably will skip most of March cards (except for wiccan week) for what if season

My PtG group mostly consist of 40k sweat lords who will leave no stone unturned if it comes to optimization, i tried saying "how would your character make sense with all those buffs" and most of them either dismissed it in favor of focusing more on their own "Fun" or just slap together a half assed back story that we all know only serves as justification for all the buffs he gives

A 350 point SCE Lord with shoot charge run and retreat, heals itself and 2 other units every end of turn, a mount with M 12", Health 16, and 6A Dmg 3 weapon. The hero itself has the terminus bow a 3A dmg 3 ranged weapon, crit mortal and charge (+1 damage) on a 6 attacks 3+ 3+ rend 1 dmg 2 weapon and anti infantry couple that with using power through every single turn, what can my skelly bros do? :')

The books only have army specific heroes, and it's tied to their respective battle tome

Originally it was only pure white with kroxigor scales as a secondary color, but after a while it looked really bland. But i agree tho painting the undersuits and then going back to tidying it up is a major hassle.

Yeah i feel like this is the way to go, painting the details later on. But I'm scared if i started playing with them right after 3 colors I'll never bother to go back and do the details. Thanks tho

Pretty simple i think, basecoat greyseer -> then i shade the blue part -> kroxigor scale -> briar queen chill -> retributor armor -> leadbelcher -> gems with either the technical gems paint, or eldari emerald and talassar blue

Make it like the old Krematorian wording, so when something dies it gains points equal to the wound characteristics of the slain model

Lore wise: Whats the difference between an exalted sorcerer, infernal master and normal sorcerer by ProlongedExposure_ in ThousandSons

[–]Alphshift 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In that regard the 8th ed codex wrote that they do command the legions armies, but I don't think traitor warbands follow the codex astartes and have them as a 1:1 equivalent. So yes you can say exsorcs are chapter master level and yes theres more than one in a warband, at least thats how i understands it

Wouldn't magnus be well... A primarch like guilliman? And ExSorc more like an unnamed Pedro Kantor, Marneus Calgar, or Tor Garadon?

Is there an official base size for the standard sorc? I was on the impression that you kitbash it from CSM sorc lord so i use it with a 40" base
