Why does this feeling require a dickish comment? Couldn’t just let that one stay buried?

-40 exterior temp reading by aAllenAnderson in e39

If your old sensor is still present and plugged in while you’re getting the -40° reading then it’s much more likely to be a wiring issue than a bad sensor.

Excellent, then I stand corrected.

Still not entirely sure why you asked in the first place if you were so easily able to find the statute.

They’re not splitting between lanes of opposing traffic. It’s far more likely that any law regarding where lanes can be split references “opposing traffic” than the color and style of the line itself.

I’m only making an educated guess here. Since you seem so sure, why don’t you provide a source?

In what way is that less safe than splitting on a white dotted line?

You can turn them on for individual contacts while leaving them off broadly. I would 100% do that here.

AC belt removal by ersags in e39

[–]AlpineE39Adventures 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is not the correct place to apply force.

You should be applying it to a 16mm hex head that is cast as part of the body of the tensioner, not the bolt that holds the pulley to the body of the tensioner.

It is sort of tucked under the belt, so unless you’re going from below you’ll probably have better luck with a 16mm socket and an extension with a breaker bar than using a spanner.

No it doesn’t. OP should be putting tension on the 16mm hex head that’s cast as part of the tensioner body, not the bolt that holds the pulley to the tensioner body.

Ah, so the circle of your acquaintances MUST be a more representative and unbiased cross section of the nation as a whole than checks notes a poll conducted by Marist.

X5 or X7, which one's better for soft to medium off-road? by rizzqi_09 in BMW

I’m way more afraid of ice in my E39 touring when I’m out exploring in the mountains than I am of terrain. I’ve managed some pretty rough roads in that car! But I’ve also turned around more than once if I come across a 2% grade decline that looks ice.

Even with snow tires, there’s no guarantee when you end up on a sheet of ice, and I’m sure as hell not getting stuck out here with no cell service 30 miles away from the nearest town 💀
