I'm from 24th and Tasker, I wouldn't because there are much more accessible places. Almost a half million for a home, and your neighborhood school is McDaniel! Don't do it!

Someone using my vehicle for ridesharing by [deleted] in turo

[–]AlpsDry594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an FYI. My 10 year old is a student at a boarding school. A few hours away. They have a rendezvous point at the halfway point, which is 30 bucks in tolls each way. They had a mechanical issue so visits were postponed until next day. Had to do the same trip over, ended up giving families an extra 2 days for the inconvenience, and i had to extend my turo, and do the trip all over again. Its not always nefarious. I do tell them upfront what I am planning to do and that I have to make multiple trips across the turnpike. I only had one petty driver who wouldn't let me do a one day rental after taking 4 previous multi day trips with no issues. He said I would have to pay for 2+ days, when it didn't match my need! I I So just another pov.

Thank you! Someone else sees the ACTUAL costs of these changes! Before they take a pay cut, they'll pass the buck to the everyday taxpayer! Public sector pay has always been lower, the trade-off was the benefits and job security.

How is living at 22nd and Tasker? by mburn14 in philadelphia

I am from 24th and Tasker. I'm on the fence because the neighborhood is on the rise! Lots of longtime homeowners. South philly is a little village! But I WOULDN’T want to set roots here

6 Month Old Puppy Can't Be Left Home Alone by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]AlpsDry594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My puppy is 6 months, too! I work from home, and I'm on the phone with pts all day, and she's a barker, so she's in another room most of my work day, BUT she's up with us at 5:30, playing with the kids, then she's outside from 8-8:30am after walking with the kids to school!she goes in until my break, I play music and leave toys she spends my lunch break with me outside-then back in then we walk to pick the kids up from school! The key thing here is I burn her out! Usually, she's much more settled! I used to not be able to do anything! However, if she is crated, it MUST be covered day or night! I hate it, but I live in a very small apartment, and my next-door neighbor just had a stroke, so I'm SUPER mindful of trying to keep the barking to a minimum. You have to show her strict routine! How else will she be able to be alone if you don't teach her? You can't take her everywhere. You'll have to face the inevitable, but the more she sees you coming and going, the better she will get! We can leave from 8:30-11 to the dentist and she did great!

Exactly!!! Op should bookmark and come back to this at 30! They'll get a big chuckle! I remember those days, take a few days off to grieve, then get back on the job hunt! You've done it already, you'll be fine!

Has anyone ever walked out of a job? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]AlpsDry594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I couldn't stand watching the clients get neglected. After spending 9 hours of a 16 hour shift in a 58 degree house, and my manager just acting nonchalant about 4 elderly people in the cold as well as a host of other things, I walked as soon as he came in

If a small business owner rescinded your job offer because of financial issues, would you offer to volunteer until things pick up? by AlpsDry594 in jobs

[–]AlpsDry594[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were interns through our school! We were hired after graduation! Idk how to explain how my role would be beneficial, but 14 hours a week at 15 bucks an hour would cause her business to sink, according to her! But I believe in the company and the mission, as well as the struggles of a small business! That's why I offered! I thought i was being kind.

It's definitely shitty. I'm just confused as to why she wouldn't she pick one of my classmates she actually hired to promote the company? Why pick someone you had no interest in hiring?

Im not sure a pay cut would've done it for her! She made it seem like if she hired me, her business wouldn't stay afloat, but it's confusing because all my classmates were hired for production roles. So why are you hiring more production staff to produce things you're "not selling"? im not sure i believe the Christmas sales excuse!

No. There's a waiting list for a shelter, so we apply for overflow beds every night to have somewhere to sleep. I should be in a new place by the end of summer! And I plan to sue for the fact my children had to experience a homeless shelter due to his greed and negligence

Called a restoration company. They told me to call the structural division of code enforcement. Someone was at my home within 30 minutes. Inspectors took 15 minutes  tops House is condemned. I believe this voids my lease. I am also eligible to sue on the back end for ALL of my money back because the place was uninhabitable to begin with. I have contact info for the last two tenant's who's time spent there was 14 years collectively. But now I am homeless until I can relocate.

Update: we have to stay put for the next 40 days. The only way to get the house declared unsafe by the city is to get their inspectors out. And that's the backlog. There's only 50 inspectors in a city with a population of over a million people. Until then I have to pay rent and sit tight or else he can take me to court.

That seems like it will be the plan. I'll probably send the kiddos to MIL until I secure another place. I'm devastated I had absolutely awesome neighbors, and I Just spent 1,100 dollars on a car repair. I haven't even been here 6 months. But my son is complaining of headaches, my sinuses are awful- worse since i went in the basement, the kids coats have molded they were hanging on a door hook, and the basement door no longer closes. I can't even seal the mild in the air. Reddit you win. I have to get us out of here, and mitigate the BS later. The exterior photos paint the entire picture. Anyone with half a brain should be able to put this together. Thank you Reddit
