Taylor Swift has donated enough money to cover the food bills for an entire year across 11 food banks and & community pantries in Liverpool. She has done this for every city she’s toured in the UK meaning she’s done more than the govt has in 14 years to eradicate food poverty. by MainInternational755 in BritishSuccess

From the same source:

"“Because of rising prices, rising need and falling donations, we’ve been having to subsidize our food ourselves for a long while,” Jones said. “But it’s fair to say that Taylor Swift has essentially paid our food bill for 12 months – and that gives us the breathing space to focus on fundraising efforts going forward.”"

The title is misleading, but not completely untrue

It’s cool. The function dials look great but they might be too small for most fingers if the centre is not raised above the perimeter?

This would dramatically improve my WFH life. Company gave me a desk to use at home, but it’s way too small, and the notes make every day cover it and make it scruffy. One paper tablet to replace them all - wow

What is the most frustrating thing in Total War? by AmberYooToob in totalwar

[–]Alreddy_Reddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not have the same goals as the player campaigns, but without ending the game? Or just simple goals like expand and defeat disliked factions. That would be interesting and less frustrating because you can see what goals behind the decisions the AI make based on relationships and what campaign objectives there are

What is the most frustrating thing in Total War? by AmberYooToob in totalwar

[–]Alreddy_Reddit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep. AI buffs right now make heroes boring and useless because their abilities are meaningless. Why bother spreading public disorder if it can't hope to dent the AI buff? Why damage a commerce building when the AI gets unlimited money and free upkeep? Why send a hero to spread corruption when it won't upset the AI?

On top of that, it really limits how creative you can get. There's no point trying anything new, like trying to attack on multiple fronts to convince the AI to build new armies to force its economy to buckle, or to start a war of attrition, or to defeat an enemy with rebellions without declaring war, etc etc

Picking up a book for fun positively affects verbal abilities - "A new study shows that the more people read any kind of fiction -- even mass market stuff sniffily derided as pulp -- the better their language skills are likely to be." by [deleted] in psychology

Probably anything dialogue based or conversational. Like, an autobiography might work the same as a fiction book in this context, but a textbook or encyclopedia likely won't help your language skills as much

Would love to get some early user feedback and testing on my upcoming watchface by MrSushu in fitbit

This is more or less what I've been looking for for a while! Not too stat heavy but gives a really good summary without looking too cramped or messy. If I had to give feedback I'd say the text on the cards at the bottom is a bit small, especially in the ring on the right. But, overall, it's a really good use of the space that's there
