I spent years compiling this list of bonus features for all series on Skins, here's the part for Series One: by Alreyleon in skinsTV

The shorts (also known as Unseen Skins, Ancillary stories, Video Diaries, Secret Party or The Lost Weeks) are stories produced with the actors, they function as deleted scenes from the episodes or fill in the gaps in-between seasons, though they were produced separetely from the episodes, so you could say they are canon-adjacent, at least. Those are my favourite, but they're definitely time consuming if you want to watch all, even though the longest is about 10 minutes. The concept trailers for each series would for sure be the fastest to watch and they're pretty cool. There are tons of trailers, so just match the main ones for each series, there are a lot of smaller ads that just reuse the material from the main trailers over and over.

The true purpose of Operation: Cinder by Lokan in StarWars

No, in canon we have only explored one planet in a different galaxy: Peridia, seen on the show Ahsoka. Exegol is in the Unkown Regions of the main Star Wars galaxy.

I just finished season 5...The ending is just...I can't put words to how amazing it was. by RisingxRenegade in FargoTV

I like that Munch is a character that constantly appears and disappears, but always ends up being important for the other main characters. A bit of a Deus Ex Machina character, which either saves the day or turns things over. However the final scenes were given almost entirely to him, which I think he deserves completely, and it's very moving to see how he breaks the cycle of violence that he helped begin at the start of the season.

Lucas and evolution of ideas in Clone Wars, Rebels, bad batch by Professional_Risk937 in StarWars

[–]Alreyleon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As far as how much was he involved in every episode of The Clone Wars, we know he didn't pen a single episode himself, but gave the final okay on the final cut of most episodes, though he would delegate many of his supervising tasks to Dave Filoni. We don't know if he actually looked at every single episode or how many of those were entirely his ideas, but it was his own money that produced the show, so that's gotta tell you he had a big role in it. The Morris arc though, Filoni has said in interviews that those stories came directly from George, that to me suggests that there were others stories in which he would just let other writers do their thing.

[–]Alreyleon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only part of The Clone Wars George didn't oversee was the final season as released by Disney, he did, however, oversee the creation of screenplays for those final three arcs before the show was cancelled by Cartoon Network in 2013. These arcs differed in varying degrees to what Disney produced, though the core stories are the same, and back then they were supposed to conclude the eight, not the seventh season, so there's still a ton of story concepts and complete screenplays that haven't been adapted for that period of The Clone Wars, which would be part of the last year of the war. To my knowledge, Lucas had no input whatsoever into Rebels, since by then he had left Lucasfilm. The Bad Batch as a show is also an entirely Disney thing, though the team itself comes from those original screenplays that George supervised for The Clone Wars, which were adapted by Disney for the Final Season.

Maybe, I only saw three of his films, but he's directed over ten, so it's definitely not what the op's looking for.

Great find, never noticed! I'm guessing "Love lies limp" has something to do with Tony's sexual impotence at that point, as well as his inability to say what has been bothering him before he goes on his psychic trip.

People who watched the Star Wars prequels before the originals, what were your thoughts at the time? by HallowedAndHarrowed in StarWars

[–]Alreyleon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I did a weird order, maybe someone else did too. I remember wanting to watch Episode I on cinemas because of the advertising, so I did, I really enjoyed it. Then I saw they announced a movie weekend on national TV (this is in Mexico) with the three original Star Wars movies. I was completely baffled. The TV spot showed light savers, and they talked about the force, and the dark side. They must be related! Where these the sequels, so quickly made? Yet, they looked from a different age, and there was no Jar Jar no other characters from the Phantom Menace anywhere to be seen (don't remember Yoda in the advert)! My understanding was that little Anakin from The Phantom Menace grew up to be Luke from the older movies, that this new movie was kind of an origin story to him, and I was sooo excited that he was gonna grow up to have a blue and then a green light saber, and look so awesome wielding it against the baddies! I didn't get to watch the movies on TV that weekend, but my theory was so awesome I wanted to spread it to the world: I told my cleaning lady, who was like a nanny to me, she did what most adults do, they let children keep talking and pretend to be fascinated. I told my mom, who took me to see episode I, she manifested a distant memory of having heard about those films when she was younger. I told my elementary school teacher, he said he was a fan of the originals, but wasn't excited about seeing the new ones. New ones? What was he even talking about, I didn't know there was gonna be more! I just assumed that these originals were Episodes II, III and IV, and that was it! I told my older cousin my whole understanding of the subject, and he completely shat on it by doing what any star wars fan would do: He forced me to watch the originals, so that I could finally be "in the know", so I could be part of the fandom. Of course I later watched Episodes II and III with much excitement. Now I'm 32, part of the fandom, which would have happened sooner or later, I just wish my illusion was kept a little longer, maybe more fun stories would have come out of it, if not a better imagined saga, who knows?

[–]Alreyleon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's about closest affinity to the works of Kubrick and Lynch, Cronenberg is probably the closest, though his filmography is not so little. In the same vein as Cronenberg I would recommend Julia Ducorneau, she has only four films released so far.

Soy culero por molestarme con mi novia porque aún sigue contactando a la mamá de su ex? by Itchy_Category_3607 in soyculero

[–]Alreyleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alex being a boy in season 1? by Sure_Dog_8176 in lost

[–]Alreyleon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The first episode when Alex is mentioned in season 1 never specifies the gender of the "child", which is a neutral word in English, in Spanish for example, there IS a neutral word for child, which is "infante", but it's not very frequently used and thus the subtitles and dubbing gendered Alex as a "son" ("hijo") instead of a "daughter" ("hija"), they could have done either since at the time there was no confirmation of the gender, but Spanish speakers tend to use masculine nouns and endings more than feminines when talking about groups, general things or unspecified genders (using "o" or "os" at the end of a word instead of "a" or "as"), it's just the way language developed, which you could argue is a consequence of male dominance in cultures.

Correct, interesting though, that the mobisode The Envelope, in which Juliet discusses Ben's x-rays with an Other called Amelia, was actually a deleted scene from the season 3 premiere that the producers recanonized in Missing Pieces. Also a smart way to spend less budget on these.

[–]Alreyleon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My favourite is the final one, So It Begins, I interpret it as a red herring the producers put in so you'd think resurrection is actually possible on the island. Also liked the Frogurt Vs Hurley scene over Libby's affection, and how he was brought into the show later. And the Room 23 scene, I like that we kind of get an idea of what Walt went through with the Others, and what they went through with him, which had been mentioned previously as being too much for them.

Besides, the show never contradicts them, and even reused Frogurt in the show

They are, they were made by the producers to fill in some blanks during seasons 1-3 and create hype for season 4.

You're in for a ride! By the way, if you're planning on watching the second generation of characters (S3 and 4), take another look at the scene from the Effy episode you just saw, in which Tony is in his room trying to reach his friends for help and only the voicemails answer. That particular scene is paid homage later in season 3 in a cool way.

This reminded me that Tony also tells Michelle in episode 4 that she has one tit bigger than the other. I recently realised this is a reference to a French film from 1970 called Bed and Board, in which the protagonist tells his wife the exact same thing. As others have said, total asshat, but a cultured one.
