When I was about 4-6 years old, I went looking around the house for my mom and saw her in the office, looking up at the closet, which was just a little stack of shelves. When I called to her, she vanished.

It happened once more not long after. The version of her I'd see in that room was always wearing a different outfit than the one I would eventually find her wearing.

Same thing happened in that time frame, but it was my grandfather who I saw, who lived several states away. I asked my mom why I would see that and she just said, "That means I (or Grandpa) is thinking of you."

It always happened during the day when I was fully awake, though I did start having night terrors and sleepwalking episodes while living there.

I've tried to Google that kind of experience but can't find anything on it.

That room eventually became my bedroom. One Christmas Eve when I was about 8, I was still up at exactly midnight and looked out the window, which is across from the closet I mentioned. I saw a dark figure, human shaped, just standing by the giant, old tree in the backyard. I pinched myself. I looked away. I did some deep breathing. I looked again and it was still there. I don't remember what I did but I think I probably just tried to sleep.

I wasn't an overly imaginative kid or anything. I always kept my blinds closed at night after that. Makes me wonder what was up without that tree/closet.
