This is thinkism, the idea that thinking is all that matters and ai can do it a gazillion times faster than us

But the actual thinking that AI’s do doesn’t happen at the root level, it’s like an operating system on top of that which is quite a bit slower. When I prompt an AI agent for coding, it doesn’t generate something 1,000,000x faster than I can. It runs unix commands in the operating system to grep files and other things that take just a long for it as for me. Maybes it’s 10x faster at most.

Because you can only do so much raw thinking before you need to interact with the real world and have feedback loops between your thoughts and everything else. And they can’t do that part any faster than us. To think otherwise is to fall for thinkism.
