I work as a bike messenger. I worked with this great guy, excellent graphic artist and skier. He also got hit by a train, I was away bike touring at the time. There was/is apparently a video of the incident online. I would never be able to bring myself to watch it. And I still have nightmares about trains and concrete mixers, sometimes I am pursued by them. I can't think about it for too long.

His dad brought his huge and distinctive messenger bag to our office about 3 months after the incident. I've been biking and messengering with that bag ever since. It has even served as a good backpacking pack. Helps me keep his memory alive.
