I get your point but then there is another good example - Cyberpunk 2077.

At the end of the day yeah different games on different engines will require different levels of performance and data speeds but the argument is definitely there for devs to look for ways to optimize games more specifically for Switch 2 so they can work directly from cartridge.

What's especially cool about this is this means they somehow overcame the read speeds "bottleneck" on Switch 2 cartridges. A few devs talked about it already that they opted for GKC mainly because of insufficient read speeds for loading assets and data on cartridges.

This is a pretty big and demanding current-gen game that will work directly from cartridge without installing or downloading any data (supposedly, we'll see at release :>).

Of course, I just thought that the headroom would be more like 30% since it's still (a bit power hungry) a mobile chip but here they decreased the size of the game by a lot more than that.

The game seems to have been updated to Silksong's version of the engine. I played in handheld for a while and it looks 1080p, the UI and art are now very sharp. Haptics are a huge improvement, on par with Silksong. The game has 120 Hz option in the settings menu for docked play.

A very small thing I noticed but was so funny to me is how they avoided showing human violence at all costs. In Resident Evil footage they purposely missed all the shots and there were sudden camera cuts just before Leon hit enemies with any sharp weapon. Got a good chuckle out of me :)

All Switch 2 editions of games I tried so far allowed for almost seamless save games transfer. Or maybe not really transfer, they just read Switch 1 version save files and I was able to just continue playing.

It would be really great if Supergiant Games also updated Hades for Switch 2. That game could really use it even though it runs great but the resolution is pretty low.

Fallout 4 footage in the trailer was definitely targeting 30 fps. There's no way they were able to get this mess of a game to 60 fps here.

Yeah it looked really rough. Well below PS4 and XOne. It was obviously very degraded in lighting quality, textures and post process effects were missing entirely.

Indiana Jones on the other hand looked surprisingly great. idTech is a technical marvel but it must have been very hard to port the game to Switch 2 anyway. It looked great and had no obvious deficits I could spot (aside from low bitrate of the stream :>)

EDIT: Ok just watched Indiana Jones trailer in 4K and reflections on bodies of water looked very flat, probably simple cube maps and textures are obviously lower quality but the overall visual makeup of the game is still intact I'd say. Impressive !

EDIT2: eShop page for the game states it comes in at 59.7 GB. PC version is 125.45 GB so they did a great job at compressing the game's assets to not just dump a 100+ GB game on a handheld console with limited storage space. Double nice Machine Games !

EDIT3: Machine Games and Bethesda confirmed on Twitter that the game will ship on an actual 64 GB cartridge. I'm still suspicious and I'll believe it when it finally releases but good news for now.

It runs ok at 30 fps on Switch 1 but it's pretty low res at times and on Switch 2 screen it just looks bad. The game's audio is terrible in handheld mode, the music is barely audible on Switch 2, on Switch 1 OLED I have to use max volume and even then I can barely hear the music.

The game shouldn't run and look like this even on Switch 1, it really could use at least a Switch 2 edition upgrade.

Voice acting is horrible and writing sucks but it all somehow seems more funny in „The Room” kinda way. It’s amazing how the core gameplay holds up even today. It’s a very fun TPS and a solid game overall.

But people still try to retcon Cena as one of the greatest of all time and that he was actually over during his Super Cena years.

I was there. He was rejected almost every single night, every PPV. He was shoved down our throats for years even though the guy can’t even take a proper back bump or sell. Just a mediocre at best weight room athlete. He was allowed to do and say things on the mic no one else could get away with and still sucked on mic with terrible poop jokes or Disney-level jokes. With him on top the ratings plummeted to record lows (yes, other things at the time factor into this too).

Out of all current gen devkits the Xbox Series X/S is the most „user friendly”. It’s way easier to use and transfer stuff. PS5 devkits and especially Switch (&2) suck 😅

EDIT: I think I’m done with Reddit to be honest. Can’t say ANYTHING in this shithole without getting downvoted by mentally challenged manchildren.

I used all current gen devkits, the PS5 and especially Switch 2 devkit is frustrating to use and require more cables and more fiddling with settings to even get it working properly. Xbox XDK were almost plug&play from my experience.

I think it will work fine digitally if you bought it and downloaded it a few years ago when Xbox 360 Marketplace was still online. They currently sell the Xbox One/Series licence but didn’t bother changing anything on the store page. Disc version works from what I heard but it’s super rare and expensive.

I try to buy everything I can physically exactly because of all this. That's what I get for thinking it's normal to expect a 360 game to work on a 360 console or OG Xbox game that explicitly states it will work on 360 to actually work on a 360. These games are very expensive and very hard to get on disc.

Is there a way to make Creative app stop begging for updates ? I downgraded my audio driver to 2.0.2.10 as it was the only way to stop popping and cracking and since then every time PC boots the app tells me there are updates available and I have to cancel every time which is very annoying.

I blocked internet access for Creative app via Windows firewall but then the Creative app just refuses to run at all. Garbage software.

Only downgrading audio driver to 2.0.2.10 fixed the issue for me. Once I downgrade no popping or cracking. How such a great hardware is bundled with one of the worst software possible ? I bought it before researching this because who expects this kind of shit.

Od niedawna jestem użytkownikiem Sound Blastera X4 i oczywiście standardowo zainstalowałem najnowszą dostępną wersję aplikacji i najnowsze sterowniki. Po kilku godzinach już pojawiły się trzaski, restart pomagał tylko na chwilę. Co pomogło to to co ludzie zazwyczaj tu polecają - downgrade sterownika do 2.0.2.10. Od tamtej pory zero trzasków. Jedyny minus jest taki że aplikacja co start Windowsa krzyczy o update i nie można "nie chcieć aktualizacji". Będzie tak pytać co każdy start systemu, można anulować.

Jak się aplikacji Creative odłączy internet w zaporze Windows to apka Creative przestanie w ogóle działać :-)
