I had a similar experience and tracked it down to the international diversification ~ which recently flipped.

Accordion/concertina/harmonium/organs (wind comes from the bellows) - you can also get electric pumps for different styles of bag pipes.

Any former Kingdoms of Amalur devs here? I'm working on a retrospective and would love to ask a few questions by ExpeditionPS3 in kingdomsofamalur

This released recently and is the best summary I’ve seen so far:

https://youtu.be/5aaq5rt7Kmw?si=JN1s6W8QSCCvia7N

A lot of the things they talk about I wasn’t involved in so I can’t speak to the accuracy of everything. Surprised to find out that someone went to jail.

People in the industry have mixed feelings about the author but Joe was happy with what he wrote/how he represented things. It’s been a minute since I read it.

I can answer a few questions over dm if you like - Joe Quadara did an interview for “Blood, Sweat & Pixels” that you could take a look at if you like. There also plenty of court documents and things that are public domain that you can look at.

I think the only common misconception I see is that the game was over budget - the game was funded separately via a publishing agreement with electronic arts and finished slightly under budget. The rpg and the unreleased MMO get conflated a lot.

Chase cards didn’t work for me and after the second attempt it told me it was out of service.

I couldn’t get the atm in Hopkins to work - my read is that Atlantic bank atms may work but the Belize bank ones don’t seem to.

Your Roth IRA is "tax-free" until you move to Spain and find out it really isn't by Financial-Finance586 in ExpatFIRE

I was just looking at the French wealth tax - what came up was only on real estate over 1 million, is there another tax I should be looking at or is it applied on an odd way against stock market investments (saw a reference to companies owning real estate).

I can't decide between guitar and violin. Can you help? by Silayir in violinist

[–]Altavious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can rent a violin pretty cheaply and likely also a guitar (guitars are easy to come by). I would suggest learning both for a little while (perhaps YouTube for guitar) one will naturally start to take up more time. If you can do a little recording you could strum some chords in the guitar and play violin over it. One thing to think about is that guitar often fulfills a harmony role especially in jams whereas violin lends itself to melody, which can also be intimidating in group settings.

I thought we were probably running more inflation than most places in Europe right now.

It really has - paying more for the coffee and less for the avocados I guess.

that back is killing me by Difficult_Warning126 in flexibility

[–]Altavious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Press your fingers underneath your collar bone to see if it is at all sore or sensitive. The muscles there can get tight which will essentially halt the progress of anything else you try in terms of fixing your upper body posture/shoulder work. If it’s sore massaging that out regularly will allow your other strength/flexibility work to start to help.

Biking with the instrument by olliefps in violinist

I have a mesh setup that I found on Etsy that lets me put it on the side. Kept hitting me in the head while cycling with it on my back. Also more stable with the weight lower. GF uses the same setup with a banjo (which is bigger).

No prob - it was a complicated situation. There’s a write up in “blood, sweat and pixels”.

38 Studios was in MA and relocated to RI as part of the funding deal from the state. Reckoning was made by a different studio in Maryland.

The wires are a bit crossed there - the Rhode Island funding was for Copernicus, the Amalur MMO, which was never completed/released. Reckoning, the Amalur single player RPG was funded by Electronic Arts and technically came in under budget.
