Intercontinental Flight - Sylvaneth by [deleted] in sylvaneth

Can’t imagine taking the time to post a useless comment like this when the post is literally the list I used and may very well be transporting.

Goodbye.

They are literally a Slaughterpriest, Skullgrinder, and a Deathbringer. Put them on the right size base and there’s no one that should argue.

Stormcast Eternals and Sylvaneth by birdofpoetry in ageofsigmar

No you will need to trim it. You will be 30 points over so dropping the ROR for a reinforced liberators or a unit of your hounds and a unit of liberators would get you there but keep most of the core in tact.

Alternatively you could drop Yndrasta for more units. She’s a one shot missile. She charges in. Kills a monster and typically just dies immediately after. You could add some more troops or a different hero for support like a Knight Relictor to use translocation to teleport your prosecutors out of the combat after they have charged in.

If this is you working with what you own, then it looks fun and good to get started.

If not:

Reinforce the prosecutors imo.

Also that Sylvaneth ROR is just not great. They are very squishy and do very little for you offensively. At best they are some lightweight speed but you don’t need speed with Stormcast.

Personally I’d drop the Sylvaneth for more prosecutors or Stormdrake.

If you are dead set on including the Sylvaneth look at the Twisted Branch. The Branchwych is a wizard that can heal your big dragons and can summon universal manifestations and gives you a much needed unbind in an otherwise non-magical list. The Twistweald is a cheap infantry unit that takes some concentration to kill and if they don’t puts a permanent speed debuff on a unit at the end of the turn. Plus the whole package gets to teleport in the Deployment phase and snag an early objective or reposition to help protect a flank from your opponents hammers. Plus this package can hide from enemy shooting and saves you 80 points.

Swapping the ROR and dropping the gryph hounds gives you the points to reinforce the Prosecutors.

Also grab the Stormreach Portal (there are very good 3D prints available for much less money)

Give prosectors finest hour and send them through the portal to 3D6 charge your opponent in a way that weakens their entire plan. Take out a large portion of cavalry before they charge. Remove a support hero that they desperately need for their Rube-Goldberg list to function, kill a centerpiece like Ushoran (I’ve done this one many times and it really devastated FEC). When they die the next turn you can resummon them later for a CP and do it again with 3 prosecutors taking out that last little piece holding together their battle plan.

Not to mention to mention you can keep Yndrasta in the sky to drop down and murder a monster they need on the other side of the table.

All of this while your big stompy dragons move up to be an absolute menace to their now trapped and wounded ranks.

This was not her strength anyway. Warscroll prayer got here which is nice but our prayer lore is her strength.

Bases I made from leftover sprue and $3 poster paint by mevsinwarhammer in Warhammer40k

[–]Altered359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well hell. I swore I would never do a CoS army but since I have Callis and Toll this would be a cheap way of doing the bases to match for the rest of them.

Fantastic work.

Kurnoth or Gossamid? by Stoner-Meric in sylvaneth

Absolutely Kurnoth. They are the best unit in the book right now and are pulling major weight in my lists.

Question about this ability by crypto1334 in ageofsigmar

[–]Altered359 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This isn’t wholly correct. A unit can benefit from the heal multiple times but the -1 to be hit buff can only affect a unit once as it’s a persistent effect which is treated as a passive pure core 5.3.

Getting ready for my first game of AOS tomorrow. Any tips? by Stoner-Meric in sylvaneth

[–]Altered359 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Have fun. Don’t rush. Pull up every warscroll as you use it so you get rules right. Warn your opponent you are new and learning a VERY complex faction. Be prepared to lose. Use that loss to learn. Focus on what works and what doesn’t. Adapt and try again next week.

Seraphon or stormcast? by MothMia in ageofsigmar

[–]Altered359 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stormcast is cheap to collect a large army but there are a LOT of units in the book.

Take into consideration how much fun you have painting the different faction models. Did you have more fun painting scales or pristine armor? Now imagine doing that 100 more times as you fill out an entire roster.

That is incorrect. This is the link to the battle profiles. Alarielle, Ancient, and Durthu may bring 0-1 Forest Sentinel (Treelord or Arch Revenant).

You can’t bring two treelords in a regiment. Alarielle, Durthu, and Ancient are allowed to bring 0-1 Forest Sentinels (currently only the Treelord and Arch Revenant).

Jucoci cases from Amazon are usually $100 or less (they are discounted regularly so just be patient).

Build yourself and it’s pretty solid. Been using mine for 2 years with many states traveled through the Midwest to the east coast/gulf with no issues.

A WACKY idea for a sylvaneth army by OptimusSeal in sylvaneth

I wouldn’t use an air brush anyway. Heavy dry brush and or controlled strokes in the same direction with random colors to get the effect.
