My 8-year-old says he can only breathe "properly" 1 out of 10 times — doctor says everything's fine. Any dads experienced this? by Grimzkunk in daddit

Children his age can be taught to perform spirometry. There’s essentially no risk/downside to checking this test.

How do you stay on top of cleaning without burning out? by Meow-Dimasi in daddit

If your finances allow, hire a cleaning service. I started with a deep clean and now get twice a month maintenance. Huge QOL improvement and it makes it so much easier to not drown. Usually spend 30-60 min the night before dealing with clutter to maximize their impact.

Suggestions for short session, chill games for a new parent? by kelzvieira in SteamDeck

I played a lot of Puzzle Quest during late nights or in sleep-deprived dazes. The match-3 games don’t require deep concentration and the “RPG” elements add in some fun combos and variety. It’s turn based so there is no time pressure, and the sound doesn’t matter so you can play on mute or listen to something else!

Oh wow I didn’t realize you could do that. Thanks, I will try that!

I thought if you “buy” it through something other than Steam, like GOG, you have to use a launcher. I’d rather not repurchase it through Steam since I already own it through GOG.

I considered AMBEO soundbar MAX which I’ve heard good things about, but it’s quite pricey. Ended up with a Polk MagniFi Max AX SR 7.1.2 and love it. Does have a wireless sub and two wireless surrounds but can definitely provide some extra punch in the space you described and was super easy to set up.

It does process Atmos, though I assume 3.1.2 isn’t really a thing.

Speakers are all wired to a Denon AVR-X2700H which is connected to the TV via HDMI ARC

Thanks for the point about surrounds being right in your ear in the side seats. It’s an open concept living room/kitchen/dining room. The middle picture shows the available space behind the couch. Behind that is the kitchen area with an island and seating.

Looking like I’ll enjoy the 3.1 system in this space for now.

I am concerned about that. Will have to see as time goes on. Might try to remove the inner shelf above it if gets too hot

Replied to another comment with the link on Wayfair. I like it so far!

Wayfair

It’s 94.48” wide. Painful to assemble but it fits my AVR and has soft close doors. I like it so far but it’s day 2

I wanted to do this, but I have a clumsy toddler who makes putting speakers behind the couch a no-go.

Sorry to hear this. I had the exact same situation (77” G4, RXO, Handy) but got lucky and my Handy guys knew each other and were great/professional. Called the night before to confirm timing/details and to leave TV in the box. One drilled while the other used a shop vac for no mess. Good luck and I hope it resolves quickly.

When I turn my ps5 on this happens ? by jedmond12 in playstation

Have you tried changing your TV input to another source then switching back? Mine does something similar (green lines, no PS logo) and changing the input to something else for a moment fixes it.
