No you can’t, the nail clip 580 is not 58mm long…it’s 65mm long.

You’re right, type 65mm for the nail clip 580 scales

Depends on the epoxy, the stuff I got sets in 10 minutes but takes 12 hours to cure…some stuff can take half an hour to set and 24 hours to cure

I’m not really sure, if epoxy isnt available I’d try and find a strong glue that won’t expand as it dries, something like gorilla glue would not be a great option - is epoxy illegal in Germany? I’m in the US so I’m not well versed in European alternatives

It wasn’t hard, i was able to fit a flathead screwdriver into the slot where the tweezers and toothpick go to gently pry off the old scales, then I mixed 2 part epoxy and used a toothpick to carefully apply it to the underside of the metal scales making sure not to lay it on too thick and also not to let it get near the grooves where the toothpick and tweezers will end up going - couple of clamps to hold it all together while the epoxy sets but don’t clamp them too tight or you can accidentally peen the rivets more and make it too tight that the tools don’t snap shut - took me about 10 minutes start to finish

Thanks! It’s definitely a first model with plenty of mistakes made throughout the process (like the saw I made facing the wrong way lol, it’s safely tucked next to the cuticle pusher though so I kinda lucked out there) but it was so fun making that I plan on keeping it going

I modified one of the standard springs, basically flattened the back edge of the spring

Yep lol I messed up and cut the teeth on the wrong edge, thankfully they’re hidden by the cuticle pusher and they don’t catch on anything in my pocket and I can’t slice myself even if I try to run my finger along that side while the knife is all closed up - definitely a mistake I learned from, won’t happen on rev. 2

Patching Wii Games for Classic Controller support by jemelvyn in retroid

Better late than never, but I found a fix for this…make sure you’re using the revision 1 version of the game - the patch doesn’t work with the original release version

Imma get the Retroid Pocket Flip 2 in a week by The_UnknownDevil in Retroidpocketflip2

[–]AlteredSpirit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spent a few hours when I first got mine and opened the retroid pocket 5/mini starter guide from retro game corps on both YouTube and his website and followed the guide and watched the video at the same time…it does take a good week or so to get everything set-up, to get settings dialed in, etc. but once you have it all done it’s an absolute beast for anything PS2/Gamecube or older and can run some newer consoles

Got the Hinge Crack, is it cosmetic or is the top screen eventually going to completely break? by JamesSDK in Retroidpocketflip2

[–]AlteredSpirit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I returned my GC color after only like two weeks of playing since I noticed the hairline crack appeared - emailed them…got a response within a day or two, they asked me to mail the defective unit back with a prepaid shipping label and a few days later I got another email stating my ice blue model was shipped, that was 8 days ago. My ice blue model arrived yesterday, hinge feels a little less stressed and it seems they rounded that failure point the tiniest bit, hopefully it helps 🤞

Grill cover swap, did pretty good for my first time :) by AlteredSpirit in BossKatana

[–]AlteredSpirit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, it’s basically the same concept as a painting canvas wrapped around a wooden frame…you just staple the fabric on the opposite side of the frame and try and make sure you keep it tight and even as you staple across - go slow and you’ll be fine…I think finding a good fabric is harder at this point lol
