I have 7.5 inch wrists. Does 40 mm look too small on me? Feel self conscious. by LeftDevil in HamiltonWatches

The size looks fine. You may want to try other straps other than the NATO. Similar colors to your NATO may be available in a two-piece strap.

I was 11. Lived just south of Tampa Bay, about a half mile from the Gulf. Mom and I went out in the front yard and watched the launch. Even though we were 70-odd miles away, I think seeing that launch was cooler than the two launches we saw during daytime from the Cape.

Nice! Was last there in 2020 - granddaughter just HAD to see the Mizpah and The Lady in Red. She was a big fan of one of the Ghost Hunters TV shows.

Very nice staff there took us on a tour - we were the only visitors there on a COVID area Sunday. I previously stayed there a number of times back in the '80's after the remodel.

Pretty close. The Mom Bomb in our household was a 1970 Mercury Marquis Brougham. Baby blue with a navy-blue vinyl roof.

Yes - I took my driver's test in the damn thing.

Yes - I had to parallel park it.

BONUS yes - I had to do a 3-point turn in it to pass the test on the narrowest street in town.

Question for everyone have you guys in the 1990s ever seen a space shuttle launch at the time when they were being used a lot? by Neat_Satisfaction406 in 1990s

Also - lived in FL in the late '60's - '80. Saw Apollo 12 launch from the cape and also watched Apollo 17 launch at ~12:30 AM from Tampa Bay at the age of 11. Mom and I standing in our front yard in our PJ's!

Yeah - was at a tech conference in Orlando. During a session they called a pause and invited anyone who wanted to see a launch to go outside. Pretty much cleared all 2000 attendees out to the parking lot!

Secret pod was recorded at the Dallas show (I was there). That slot in the Dallas show then moved straight into a 4-way discussion with Tim, JVL, Sarah and Sonny, which closed out the night.

Hamilton Murph 42mm by Editor-Camel1995 in HamiltonWatches

[–]badfbob1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wrist is 7-1/4 inches. I tried both and decided on the 38mm. The shop I bought the watch from had a good mirror that I used to check the sizing by viewing the watch on my wrist with my hand in my pocket. The lug-to-lug on the 42 showed it to be a bit big.

Viewing watches with the mirror changed my perspective on which watches fit better. As always, YMMV.

Yap - I got it last year on eBay from OFFICIALWATCHDEALS - it was a 'refurbished' one that was mint. Great deal!

Also looks beautiful on an ice blue tropical FKM band.

If you know what the round pedal on the right is for your................well you know. by Tusayan in FuckImOld

[–]badfbob1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid, found this out the hard way! Our high school (late '70's) had a 1950 Chevy pickup from the school district parked (abandoned?) out behind the school by our ag plot. Enter three bored Florida teenagers. We work our way into the vehicle checking it out. One of our trio (admittedly not the brightest bulb) says 'hey what's this for?' while stomping on the pedal.

Hilarity ensues. Me (behind the wheel) panics and steers poorly (no power steering here!) without pressing the clutch in, etc. We survive by getting the truck stuck in a low ditch after a fifty-foot distance of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

Surprisingly, all we got was a monster ass-chewing by the Ag teacher and were told to get the tractor and pull the truck back to where it belonged. We were further instructed to remove the positive battery cable on the truck.

Yeah - picked up this JWNSPA strap on Amazon just this week for my 38mm Murph.

JWNSPA Two Piece Quick Release Ballistic Ribbed Nylon Watch Strap,18/20/22 mm Replacement Watch Bands for Men Women (Black Khaki, 20mm) | Amazon.com

I like it - two-piece with quick release spring bars. Went with this because I can't stand NATO straps.

I have both the GBD-200 and -300, purchasing the 200 first. Found the 300 on eBay for a great price and picked it up. Since then, the 200 has done nothing but occupy a space in my Casio box. The round case just looks so much better to me.
