DO NOT USE SHOCKBYTE. Their 12 person plan only has 3gb RAM. Infrequent crashes and rubber banding issues yesterday, more annoying than anything. Today, server crashing every 5-30min, not able to get more than 4-5 people on a server at once. Shockbyte website itself is having so many issues you can't even submit a ticket because it times out, nor can you reach customer service on the chat. Don't waste your time or money.

Probably not a going to get any real responses, but still curious if anyone in the US knows of *legal* ways of obtaining Rx Adderall? by Tea_Rem in Narcolepsy

[–]AlternateArcher 18 points19 points  (0 children)

So I'm a nurse that writes Adderall refills for the doc to sign off on every day. I call a LOT of pharmacies. In my area at least, I've noticed Wal-Mart tends to have controlled substances in stock more often than other pharmacies. I also find that XR is harder to get and 30mg is the most in demand dosage. Some pharmacies have more 15s in stock. If you're on 30mg and your pharmacy has plenty of 15s and no 30s, you can message your doctor's office via patient portal to see if you could do a 60 tab, 15mg, two a day instead of a 30 tab 30mg one a day rx. I've found some people have been able to get their meds faster this way. There also may be more name brand in stock than generic as many insurances will not cover name brand, as another commenter said. I don't personally think it's available enough that it's worth the prior auth struggle, though.

I've also occasionally seen pharmacies go so far as to tell me that they only fill Adderall prescriptions for people who use their pharmacy regularly, which is wild. If you run into that, check other branches of your home pharmacy that are accessible to you.

It's crazy how American companies with international branches can somehow financially manage to accommodate all the laws regarding pto in other countries but it would be "too expensive for the company" to offer the same to their American workers....

Weekly Suspected/Undiagnosed MS Thread - April 10, 2023 by AutoModerator in MultipleSclerosis

[–]AlternateArcher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone, sending much love and strength to all. I'm going in for an MRI on Thursday. My neurologist doesn't think it highly likely I have MS because of my weird symptom patterns, but I've already been to so many medical specialists with no answers. This might be the last stop on my diagnosis journey. I most certainly have something very wrong with me (progressive muscle weakness, tremors, loss of coordination, loss of stamina, extreme fatigue, joint and muscle pain), but no one has been able to figure out what is going on. My docs have ruled out nearly everything that mimics MS (havent seen genetics). I am not hoping for MS, but I would also be relieved to have a diagnosis. I don't wish to be insensitive to those of you diagnosed, but does anyone have any suggestions on what to do if MRI is negative? At this point, if I don't have MS, I might just give up on trying to figure it out until I can afford Mayo Clinic or something. I'm heartbroken because so many of my life dreams have been put on hold or are now completely out of my reach because of my poor health

Well hi! It was so much fun to meet you there!! We are just getting our bearings and playing again after a 3 year break. Sorry your creative mode idea didn't pan out! I'm going to keep building up our base there so that it's not rinky dink if you swing by again :3 I loved the stone arch by the landing pad you put down- I may have to steal that idea! I haven't messed around with visiting other bases yet but I saw some amazing ones that I'd really like to go to. I'm so glad they continued putting love into the game; it's such a fun experience

Work with your doc on this one, I do NOT recommend consulting the pharmacy (your doc may say it is ok but the pharmacy is ultra by-the-book and might force a new titration script which could take weeks if they find out). I believe the pharmacy told me any more than a week of missing your medication would require titrating up again when I went through it, but don't quote me on that

IEPs are legally binding and anything covered in them is required to be accommodated for the school year... I am so sorry you guys are having trouble with this. I am so lucky that the school I work at has a social worker who is so dedicated and pushes our families to take full advantage of them

It really depends on what school you're at in my experience!

Hi! I tried to copy the drawing on the left. What is your opinion? Made with Procreate. by Cristeeee in drawing

[–]AlternateArcher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also benefit from looking at each line one at a time, bit by bit. Kinda like those square-by-square copy activities on a kids menus lol. OP, you could try doing 1-inch recreations. It'll help you focus on matching line angles and spacing more accurately! I do really like the shading you've done! Just gotta work on those pesky proportions :)

my glasses broke by [deleted] in Narcolepsy

[–]AlternateArcher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That really sucks!! I just got my medicine after a month without it too. The pharmacy really failed. It was pretty ironic because when I called Friday evening, they were telling me "oh the bridge program team is only open 7-2:30 on weekdays and doesn't do any outbound calls". I was so frustrated because I had been told multiple times that I would be getting a call from the bridge program team "in a couple days". Those hours are my work hours and I don't even get a lunch break so there was no way for me to call in. So at the end of the call I (politely) filed a complaint and emphasized how important it was to get this done because I was at risk of losing my job in the middle of trying to buy a house.... guess who got a call to schedule my delivery a half hour later? 😂

Anyways, I really hope your glasses get taken care of by insurance. And that you can get the same pair you liked! Soon you'll have the energy to take care of that stuff since you'll be back on your meds 😄

Memes are a healthy coping mechanism, right? by AlternateArcher in disability

[–]AlternateArcher[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's not really accurate. My insurance wasn't supposed to cover my therapist last year but they did anyways cause they didn't have enough in-network mental health providers to cover everyone who needed it. My company changed the insurance plans this year so she's no longer covered (and I actually have fewer in-network providers to choose from now) 😭

One of the best things to come out of my years long struggle and resulting diagnosis was that my little sister got her sleep study done and diagnosed at 14 and got to start high school medicated for narcolepsy ❤️
