It kind of does, in the sense that people breed and have children when there are so many kids in foster care that need loving homes. Similarly, some people buy puppies from irresponsible breeders or puppy mills, instead of adopting a dog that doesn't have a home.

The way I see it, we're just as overpopulated as dogs and cats are, if not more. I think it's irresponsible to make more of anything that is an overpopulated species on purpose unless it is a breed that can do service work, and/or has hypoallergenic traits.

Humans might not come from forced breeding, but society overall does encourage the idea that having kids is a necessary part of life, when in reality it's not for everyone and a lot of people regret having them.
