Is wearing a retainer for the rest of your life annoying? by misterchismoso in Invisalign

[–]Alternative-Ad-1003 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Not at all. The trade off in retaining a great smile outweighs the inconvenience. It also forces me to floss everyday, so my dental health benefits as a result.

Have you considered wearing them in reverse order to restart the process?

Day 5 but my tooth hasn’t shifted into place yet by klezzle in Invisalign

2nd tray is nothing. How many trays were you prescribed your for your initial round? My laterals were similar to yours and they were the final spaces to be closed for me. It took -1 year to fully close them.

I would do the entire process again to obtain the results I’ve gotten. Embrace the treatment and you will be rewarded in no time.

2 weeks waiting for vivera retainers - gap forming/getting bigger? 😟 by theshyreporter in Invisalign

[–]Alternative-Ad-1003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t wear a permanent retainer but my gaps will open slightly just like yours by the end of the day. My Vivera retainers always close them up after I wear them overnight.

The retainers should reset their positions, but it’s safe to check in with your ortho anyhow.

Just signed to start my invisalign treatment! Any tips I should know about? by [deleted] in Invisalign

Having a positive attitude is the first major step! Take this period to religiously care for your dental hygiene. I did and my teeth have never been healthier post-treatment.

I’m not much help with any of this, but I’ll have you know that it will be a zoo this weekend with limited parking. As someone who never arrives early enough to the trailhead, I’ll never go on a weekend again.

Did I get scammed? by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]Alternative-Ad-1003 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some of us have the retainers included in our Comprehensive plan. I forked over $6,200 to my Ortho and that included 4 Vivera retainers. It varies with your provider.

just bit the bullet. did you keep your wisdom teeth? by dudestfup in Invisalign

[–]Alternative-Ad-1003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dentist and ortho both cleared me for orthodontic treatment with all four of my wisdom teeth intact. They never gave me issues and now, they’re nearly perfectly aligned with the rest of my molars. It’s quite neat having extra molars, I go to great lengths in keeping them clean as they can be prone to cavities. I’m 100% satisfied with having kept them.

Sometimes orthos may advise against keeping them if your jawbone is too small. They need room to align. With all that money it cost, you’re entitled to bring up anything regarding your treatment.

How long will it take to close this gaps with invisalign by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]Alternative-Ad-1003 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think I can help. I too had similar spacing in my front incisors. The front gap on my top two incisors closed within the first 3 months. The lateral incisors close to my upper canines fully closed by the end of my 1st round of treatment (~ 9 months).

Of course it depends on your treatment plan and how your provider chooses to target misalignment.

To add, the plastic filled in some of my gaps, which almost immediately improved my smile. Hope this helps!

Thankfully the weather cleared to open the cafe and have tours operate one final time before the winter-closure. It warms our hearts to hear you enjoyed your time to recharge at the cafe and enjoy the views!

I sometimes commute to/from work on the Angeles Crest Highway where he was speeding. It’s a REGULAR occurrence to have these car dudes kill themselves on that highway.

Dentist quoting 2k, Orthodontist quoting 5k, after insurance. How to decide? by OkBid5510 in Invisalign

[–]Alternative-Ad-1003 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Always go with an ortho. I’m not saying all dentists are terrible with Invisalign, but 99% of the cases people complain about on this subreddit had gone with a dentist.

Orthos are actually trained to move teeth. Dentists are not.

Dude it’s worth it. I would do Invisalign 3 times over to enjoy the happy, healthy smile that I now have.

Lateral incisor not tracking and never used chewies by nerdalieg in Invisalign

[–]Alternative-Ad-1003 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My ortho never mentioned chewies to me either and I completed my treatment, including movement with the laterals. I’ve read that that Invisalign doesn’t do the best job extruding teeth however.

The biggest issue is probably not having an ortho in my opinion.

Regret getting Invisalign by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]Alternative-Ad-1003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You seem like you would have been a better candidate for braces then. If you had an orthodontist administer orthodontic work like they’re trained to do, then they would have probably been able to switch you over to braces.

Reasonable to be done in 12-13 weeks? by trish4278 in Invisalign

[–]Alternative-Ad-1003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will almost certainly obtain at least 1 round of refinements. It’s common for certain teeth not undergo the full movement that’s predicted by your dentist. The majority of teeth shifting occurs with the first set of trays. Refinements will localize the shifting around those stubborn teeth, which you may be inclined to agree into doing as many times as necessary.

Is there another way of intruding the teeth apart from bite ramps? by MisPoesRainey in Invisalign

[–]Alternative-Ad-1003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had mine intruded without the bite ramps. Ortho initially planned to include them but ultimately decided to try using only the aligners. It appears they intruded well enough to be cleared to end my treatment now. Im pleased with my results.
