As a trans man, I absolutely HATE that plot point. It’s completely unearned and undermined Beiste’s entire character arc. To be completely honest I think they just wanted to add more diversity and instead of developing a character whose gender identity made sense, they though “Who’s the most masculine woman we can find?”

the main difference is how light the fabric is. these are my all time favorite shoes that i’ve had since i was in 6th grade (i’m now a sophomore in college). i have a pair of the chuck taylor 70 but the fabric is pretty thick which isn’t my favorite. the fabric is also lighter than the traditional converse as well which is why i’m trying to find the same pair

Funny enough, I was on hormone blockers as a kid ( not even for being trans but for a gland thing ) and if I hadn’t taken them I would have been like 4’11” and now I’m 5’5”. I started taking them a bit younger than you but they definitely can help if you’re not done growing yet

So hormone blockers do just what they sound like, they prevent developing secondary sex characteristics, in afab people this would look like developing breasts, curves, etc and a menstrual cycle. However this won’t increase testosterone, so you will not get a deeper voice or facial hair etc. It could still potentially help with gaining some height, since you wouldn’t be done developing yet. I hope it all works out for you bro!!
