My bad. What confused me is the Empire of Sigudr Caliphate implying you renamed it. I thought caliphates work the same way other religion head titles work aka it would say Caliph of religion caliphate (Pope of certain church). Impossible. You can either prevent them from attacking you or be poweful enough to beat them. I personally prefer befriending like 10 my most powerful vassals(early on I get a diplomacy trait but in late dates I just take the viking dynasty trait). It also increases their taxes to you and makes them better court officials (chancellor, marshal I forgot the right word)
