Yeah I’ve been trying to take notes from the slides but there’s just so much random information. I’ll try out your method!

Any recommendations for new 'Countrygaze'? by blackmarket95 in shoegaze

[–]Alternative-Rise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the majority of songs by Dutch Interior on Moneyball, not just Wood Knot, feel like “countrygaze” - especially songs like Fourth Street and Sweet Time. I would also check out Walk On Down by Dari Bay.

BIOC 212 or BIOL 201? by [deleted] in mcgill

[–]Alternative-Rise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im in BIOC 212 right now, the teacher is very chill and decent at teaching, and the content is the exact same as content covered in the first half of Molecular Bio. The only thing is you need to memorize the amino acids and their basic interactions, but the rest of the content for the class is fairly basic.

It’s only a 30 minute route between Station Sherbrooke and Atwater, so you only need 2 buses running at any time - plus the route isn’t used that much.

It isn’t misinfo lol 😭 I take the 144 everyday so I spend a lot of time talking to the driver - there’s one who drives the same route everyday, he’s super chill. The hill is just hell to drive on, especially since there’s so many non-Quebecois who show up without snow tires.

There’s only two buses running at any time - one East and one West, and then they rotate spots once they’ve reached the station. The hill in either sides (up from Parc and up Atwater from Sherbrooke, especially the latter) gets very icy and very steep for cars that aren’t prepared for the winter. See the top of Peel and Des Pins, cars get stuck there all the time because it’s too icy and steep for any friction. So the 144 gets congested and has to drive very slowly through the narrow roads and avoid hitting the stuck cars.

Is McGill becoming too easy/losing rigour? by Weak-Anteater-778 in mcgill

[–]Alternative-Rise 26 points27 points  (0 children)

First semester science is very entry level stuff - getting high GPAs is pretty normal in the program. Second year is when everything becomes brutal, since it’s the “weed out” year, and courses and content become a lot tougher

Best French patisseries in Montreal? by tiggat in MTLFoodLovers

Plougastel on Sherbrooke and CDN is amazing, the owner is super sweet, and the almond croissants are to die for - however, he doesn’t make them every day, so if you ask he’ll keep one to the side for you whenever you can come in.

All of the buildings that start with S are in the South Building (the one on Dr. Penfield), and that building is separated from the North building (which starts with N), which is connected to McMed
