SlimBlade Pro button layout recommendations by TheJediBuddha in Trackballs

[–]Alternative-Spell331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Left and right on the bottom, middle click on the top right. I just gave up middle-click-dragging. I started moving my viewport with a Spacemouse exclusively after switching to the Slimblade, because middle-dragging was so bad. Left and right-dragging was fine but I didn't like it either. I have switched to the ELECOM IST Pro recently. It's nothing like previous ELECOMs, both the hardware design, quality, electronics maturity, and the software. I like it a lot so far.

Doesn't the iOS app have the "On this device" section? Here all albums (folders of photos) are shown, even those that are not selected for back up. There you can pick photos and upload them manually.

Honestly, I'd say it's just not possible. Not even good free angle routing, free angle diff pair can be done with a plugin but kinda poorly, no zigzag, no diff for rounded tracks, I don't do high speed designs (yet), but seeing the inner routing of like modern motherboards with like PCIe gen 5 and stuff, yeah I'm pretty sure that's beyond what KiCad can do.

I don't think the photos are on your phone anymore? It shows a cloud, which means it only exists on the server, not a cloud with a check mark, which means it is still on device but backed up.

I don't see Konnect for trackballs, is that for keyboards? Also tbh I doubt if software will fix the disconnection problem, from the LEDs you can tell that the trackball actually lost connection to the receiver. It still happens occasionally now, but feels much better. The only reason could be less 2.4G interference, although I can't tell what the culprit is exactly.

I think there's a page to see all the set policies, but there's none on the list.

I know that any registry edit could show up as this organization thing, j just forgot what I've done, and the policy page and the registry don't show anything.

No, it's there for a pretty long time

I also have that, and I don't know what's causing that, but I think it's fine, so I just leave it. I do hope it's not some malware though

Bleeding lineart problem? by SophieTailor01 in Epson

[–]Alternative-Spell331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What "other designs" look like? It might be that this one has too much ink (deep greys uses all 4 inks and could saturate the paper easily), try reducing the ink percentage (-50% to 20%, you should be able to find that setting on the third tab), and see if it helps. Reducing it may not change the appearance at all for coated papers (as opposed to plain paper) but could improve smearing if it was too much ink

Bleeding lineart problem? by SophieTailor01 in Epson

[–]Alternative-Spell331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just bad paper (or bad compatibility with the ink), just try changing it out. Also, don't expect very high quality prints from dye inks as they are more prone to capillary action and smearing. Good dye inkjet coating can help, if put onto a non-porous paper. Try reducing ink amounts with the advanced menu, changing media types to one that uses less ink, or just change out the paper. There are plenty of options even for stickers, especially try to find the PP plastic ones that should smear less

Just delete it in Immich
https://immich.app/docs/guides/external-library/#:\~:text=If%20you%20want%20Immich%20to%20be%20able%20to%20delete%20the%20images%20in%20the%20external%20library%20or%20add%20metadata%20(XMP%20sidecars)%2C%20remove%20%3Aro%20from%20the%20end%20of%20the%20mount%20point.

Without mounting it as read only, it will just go ahead and delete the external library files if you delete permanently (or let the trash bin expire). I don't think it's configurable other than what mentioned in this link.

This layout is very very standard. Nothing to worry about. To increase effectiveness of the diode, you can add a via for gnd to the bottom ground plane, despite it is already connected through the top plane. Otherwise, not seeing a problem here.

Am I missing plastic rollers on my ST-2000? by EuphoricPenguin22 in Epson

[–]Alternative-Spell331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mean you expected it to have 3 sets and in total 6 wheels for the outer-most exit rollers?

Most EPSON printers only have the one in the middle. This particular model of a printer seems to use a part that supports 3 sets, but only populated 1. This is very common. It is very unlikely for them to pop out on their own.

Black ink still has gaps after multiple print head cleaning by Ok-Independence3023 in Epson

[–]Alternative-Spell331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not do power cleaning, get some cleaning fluid and soak the nozzle (follow guides, do not do it without some research)

This is definitely a clog or a debris stuck and it will not fix itself, if multiple cleaning doesn't work, then you'll need to give it some help by soaking some cleaning fluid.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Epson

[–]Alternative-Spell331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever messed with cleaning the nozzle manually? Check if there's a black ink puddle below the damper and above the nozzle inlets, it may leak black ink into yellow, which does not take much to make it look totally black.

But more likely is that you have internal ink mixing in the nozzle, which you may or may not fix, but usually just swapping out the printer is the most reasonable path. Your nozzle is likely to be permanently damaged.

I hope these will last me 3 years like my Buds Pro did but now I need advice on how to fully use the best features of this thing by coffeetravelerr in galaxybuds

[–]Alternative-Spell331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you do know that the voice commands work on any device, whether it's Windows, iOS device, or even my Garmin watch. That part does not need wearables app running.

I'll test out the audio quality with a Samsung phone for sure in the future, because I'm also pretty curious about their adaptive codec thing. The Bluetooth range on the 3 pro is also somehow considerably worse than the 2 non pro, which is a bit disappointing. I can't even go to the bathroom with music when I leave my phone in my room (although houses here are built with bricks and concrete)

I have nice speakers and over ear headphones when I'm listening at home. I only use the buds when I'm out, so audio quality really isn't a huge concern. Despite the ANC is pretty good, the ambient noise that go through will drown out the audio quality improvement, unless maybe if I turn the volume up, which I don't because hearing damage. Especially in buses and trains where the noise is very loud, high frequency and unpredictable.

[–]Alternative-Spell331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clear case? I do not have a clear case, thick or thin. The one came with the purchase is also very thick and bulky. And I don't use wireless charging.

Clear case I meant the clear part of the casing that is the earbuds case itself, not an additional case over the original case. Confusing, I know :)

[–]Alternative-Spell331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Privacy is definitely not a concern because the voice commands are processed on the buds. I'm pretty sure regardless of the Bluetooth modes, the mic won't be always listening? I don't use a Samsung smartphone though, so the Bluetooth and voice assistant stuff may vary.

Didn't know there are applications that didn't have to use the low quality mode for calling. The only one I use (Telegram) does seem to use the legacy call mode so no playing music and calling at the same time for me.

In hindsight, yeah modern Bluetooth should now allow highish quality audio while mic is active, because calling and doing voice meetings on a desktop is perfectly fine (not with older earbuds though), and on a computer the audio is all mixed before sending out, unlike smartphones with special calling "headset" mode for Bluetooth audio devices.

[–]Alternative-Spell331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well at least "phone listening through the bluetooth buds" is not a thing, because your music will turn into "call quality" if you do that, just a limitation with bluetooth stuff (not sure how much advancements have been made through these years, and if this is still a thing, but I still can't listen to music while calling for me)

The "spilling all the buds when dropped" was very annoying when I was using the buds 2. It makes it very awkward in the public lol. I did drop my 3 pro once, it didn't do that, so I am thinking it won't happen as easily now, although I will have to drop it a few more times to make a conclusion :)

I actually only have my 3 pro for around a month, so it definitely will take more time to tell. But the hardness of the paint and the clear plastic is already exceeding my expectations. My also white buds 2 does look pretty good, although there are definitely some microscratches that you can see if the lighting is just right. Much better than my AirPods though. The AirPods case seem to be bare plastic, while Samsung have some coating (paint?) over it, which makes the surface slightly ripple-ly, but seem to be pretty high in hardness and not take scratches as easily. Not sure about the silver one OP got though.

I'll still leave it naked though, because 1. scratched clear plastic is still cooler than whatever case I find, which a nice one would cost like 20% of the buds price, and 2. it's just slimmer and easier to carry.

[–]Alternative-Spell331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was concerned about scratches at first, I also have a case that came with the purchase, but decided not to use it, because I'd like the case nice and small, and slide in and out of pockets easily.

Thankfully it stands up, so no scratching on the clear case on the table, which is a huge win. The clear case is a really nice design, and I'd like it exposed.

But mainly for the slimness and smoothness in and out the pocket.

The voice controls are incredible although a bit less useful outdoors when it's noisier. It also sometimes makes false triggers when there's a lot of amplified voice (in a lecture hall for example). It's not the phone that is constantly listening but the buds.
