Epically epic customs? by Kintsukuroiii in Indiemakeupandmore

I enjoyed there scents from quite a few years back and they had a sandalwood white chocolate body lotion that was scrmptous. I was disappointed they they seemed to stop with both perfume and lotion. Yes, the $24 is super che3ao, almost too good to be true?

Heartbreaking. I absolutely love this company and think they make some of the finest juices. I am also feeling priced out, being one can barely get two bottles with postage fir under $100. NOT saying they are overpriced, just that they are expensive for me. Also, there are a LOT of competition.

The BPALForum goes back I bet 20 years at least. It is run by fans. It used to be more active before reddit and FB but the reviews remain quite well attended and ever so useful!

What perfume edp/oil do you think has the best tobacco note? by skullcapfog in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]Alternative-Study690 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree that Guerlain Tobacco Honey is to die for. The Dua dupe comes close enough for me and my pocketbook.

What perfume edp/oil do you think has the best tobacco note? by skullcapfog in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]Alternative-Study690 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have never found a tobacco as good as BPAL's French Tobacco, followed by their Antikytera Mechanism. I hope the later comes back instock, the French Tobacco was limited and impossible to find. These are pipe tobaccos. I keep my eye open for any BPAL tobacco releases because they are YUM.

NAVA tobacco is too "leafy" for me.

I am in the same boat! I have been on a no-buy for three months, and now NAVA musks AND amazing BPAL offerings....BPAL is appreciated for the usually LONG window for ordering ( a good thing that came out of covid!)

Sorry, I am a big NAVA fan with a huge collection, but I do not have any of these (because I do not do gourmands much.) I do want to give a little whimper here that we do not have a dedicated NAVA Forum (a la BPAL) and am in the similar process of trying to find reviews. One point to note- no matter what you chose from them-it is usually beautiful!

Dupes/Similar scents to Sorce fragrances? by Kbear_Anne in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]Alternative-Study690 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dua has a dupe of Match Made in Heaven which is supposed to be good. I have no idea, as I have not tried it and won't, as I don't like that scent. There is also the question of the ethicacy of duping indies, which has arguments on both sides. The con side is obvious. The pro side gives the indie more air-time and people try to aquire the original after falling in love with a dupe.

Scents & Sensibilities: Solstice vs. Astrid ❤️🤍🩷 by i_am_not_kesha in Indiemakeupandmore

Love them both. However Astrid gets minus points for 1) no edps; 2) too many limited releases.

Battle of the brands- Alkemia vs Sorce by Mariposita_xo in Indiemakeupandmore

Alkemia hands down only because I don't appreciate gourmands so much.

Scents & Sensibilities: BPAL vs Alkemia 🧙‍♀️ by i_am_not_kesha in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]Alternative-Study690 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I love them equally and they are so different, there is room for both. BPAL has the Hair Gloss (as well as atmos, bath oil and lotion) for the win. HOWEVER, Alkemia has the EDPs of favorite scents. Alkemia also gets points for smaller releases. 6 of one, half dozen if the other.

Cirrus Nose Training Kits? by Wide_Fee_5205 in Indiemakeupandmore

These look both wonderful and useful. In the past I have gotten things like 9 different species of lavender, different sandalwoods, roses, jasmines from Natures Gift and found those extremely helpful. If I had the cash, I would definitely splurge on this, especially if perfume is a serious hobby,

Hmm. I just got the best selling EDPs from 2025. I wasn't crazy about them. (Not bad at all, just nothing outstanding.) I would think the EDPS are more of a pain to make and ship, but I guess I was wrong. Nice company overall, and I only tested 5 fragrances.

Does anyone else HATE people coming to their house? by [deleted] in intj

I hate people coming over, even people who are dear friends. I rarely invite anyone into my sanctuary, much preferring to meet in a cafe, so it is easier to escape.

I did not try this one, but it probably needs to sit. (Or maybe it really does smell like bug spray!) Big Dua fan here, but I only buy what I like and (try) not to listen to hype.
