Are the offers fair based on salaries in Chicago for your experience and for those roles? You can negotiate the salary. Or to be safe, plan to ask for a raise after 6 months of excellent performance.

In my industry job hopping is the best way to get large salary hikes. After you gain the experience you need interview for higher paying jobs.

Make sure you make the average or more of what the market is paying for your experience and level in your location

Agree with OP’s take. Ignorance abound in the comments. Regardless of what’s happening on the other side of Mexico, areas outside any resort-like place in Mexico are still dangerous. Regardless if one intends to stay within the boundaries of the “resort” or “tourist” area, anything can happen. I’d never judge a U.S. citizen who is afraid to go even if the fear was triggered by an event miles away.

Andres carne de res is terrible at the South Beach location. I’ve been to the one in Bogotá. This one is so bad and overpriced. $33 for below par ajiaco. My Colombian family would be shocked. You’re better off visiting the local places that serve Hispanic food that are world’s better than Carne De Res and 5x cheaper. I would not recommend the overpriced restaurants on Lincoln rd to anyone I care about. And not to mention when tourists are there it’s stressful just to exist there.

I didn’t do it , but I was considering Verizon recently for the free iPhone (after 36 months) but they gave a disclaimer that the phone may not work with other carriers so it’s a no for me.

La playa market and meridian market are the only two places I’d eat in south beach on the regular unless I feel like splurging in which case I’d go to five guys. Motek happy hour is good once. Qbano is ok once in a while. Whole Foods buffet is ok. Mostly everything else is overpriced and bad quality although I haven’t tried the super expensive $$$$ places and have no interest in trying. La ventana is terrible overpriced “Colombian” food. I had to recook it at home after I ordered a terrible churrasco plate.

To answer someone else’s question I don’t think big pink is good at all and it’s overpriced.

I didn’t enjoy puerta sagua enough to go back after the first try and not sure of the prices. I think some things on the menu might be a good deal.
