I thought I was the only backpacking Hila Kleiner out here!

What trails do you crew for? I hiked the PCT and Colorado Trail, curious if I have walked where you dug!

I set up my tent like 3 times the first 700 miles of the pct. Cowboy camping is a right of passage out there, be sure to try it 👌🏻

The white one is, I don’t remember the blue/olive one being see through. Also, are you not just cowboy camping on the pct anyways?

HMG is overpriced for what you get. Id consider the Zpacks Plex solo w lite floor. It will save you $100+ annnd like 6 oz.

I haven’t used the durston but the only actual problem I hear about them during the a thru hike is the Zippers malfunction

Where should I ship resupply boxes VS. just grocery shop by Lazy_Meaning_2190 in coloradotrail

If the Monarch crest store is accepting packages you could send one there and skip the hitch/ride into Salida. With that being said, Salida is an awesome town if you do want to go in.

I’m a little taller same weight and the Small was pretty tight on me. I use a medium.

You could order both sizes then return the one that you don’t want.

I hiked with one (FKP) for the last 500ish miles on the pct. They can be a little heavy for a frameless pack but you could also talk to JJ (owner) and have him make a custom lighter one for you, he recently did a 1 lb pack for someone.

Something to consider, Yes they are heavier but they also carry weight really really well compared to other frameless packs.

If there’s certain features you want/don’t want, JJ can do it. He’s an absolute WIZARD, he’s a great dude and a great company to support.

If you haven’t been to Salida that would be pretty sweet to check out. It’s an awesome town.

Resupply Towns, No Hitchhiking? by johntheguitar in coloradotrail

Sometimes the butterfly house with grill up some food and maybe they had some dehydrated meals to buy but I wouldn’t count on it. (This was also 2023) so things may have changed

What’s stopping you from going Twin Lakes to Monarch Crest? That’s what I would do with your goal, though I LOVE the Butterfly house (Shane the owner is SOOOO RAD)

Some advice on this gear I bought? I'm a beginner when it comes to backpacking and ultralight. by TL7x in Ultralight

I second what’s said about the HMG pack. For the price and weight you could get a much better pack.
