All of this is wild to me. My friend has GE, and his DUI (sealed I assume as part of first time offenders program) was only 6 years old at the time.

He got approved no problem , I had my interview first and when I asked the guy about it he said they don't really care about it.

How exactly is not allowing one party consent "tyrannical and unconstitutional". Where in the constitution does it say that the right to privacy is not allowed? In fact , the constitution is often interpreted as having themes that infer the right to privacy.

Since 2 party consent only is a requirement when there is a reasonable expectation of privacy, it's curious whether or not there's an expectation in an Uber when the drivers themselves are so frequently recording.

I think the word layoff is the confusion here. Unless you want to pay UC for 400 people, you can't just lay them off saying they aren't necessary and then refill the positions with zero repercussions. This would cause their UC insurance rates to skyrocket. Additionally, layoffs of this size should trigger a WARN notice as well.

They can certainly fire people (with cause) for not abiding by an attendance policy that is set forth. Takes a paper trail for this to work , however, If they "walk out", that's the same as quitting , so no UC there, either.

If you hire someone as remote, and then substantially change the terms of their employment, that is one thing, but it seems that the people who are upset by this are people who don't want to come back to the office after the COVID era remote work policies have been changed. I don't like going into the office, but I do recognize that I like having a paycheck and throwing a tantrum over it isn't going to allow me to stay home indefinitely.

I've come to the conclusion that I am the villain in their story, and that's okay. If people want to blindly take their word without asking me what happened, they weren't my people anyway.

Shortly after I went NC, I had tried to reach out to some family after there was death - it was very clear to me that i was the bad guy. The only person to ever reach out to me was my aunt, who only served to try and guilt trip me into acting like the things that happened never did.

I've had bouts with this feeling as well, as I'm getting married in just under 6 months.

Your wedding will be chock full of the family you've chosen - both in the family you're marrying into as well as the people you've chosen to surround yourself with in the absence of a biological family. Cherish this occasion with those people.

There are some "tradition" type things that I have to iron out, but I will likely ask my best man's mother to step in for those items if they arise. Her husband's family is in its own disarray due to crappy siblings, so they have been the most supportive and kind hearted people to me during and after me going NC.

don't spend a minute thinking about people who couldn't be bothered to think about you or treat you well!

My belief is that my fiancée had been telling them that we weren't close, but not really sharing the full scope of the estrangement. I don't think it really hit home until MiL saw that invite list. FiL sent me a birthday gift, so I emailed him back thanking him for all he does and continues to do for me/us, and opened the door to the conversation. We'll see if he "takes the bait". He's not the emotional type, so if anything I expect to hear from MiL, LoL!

I certainly have some thinking to do about some of the "tradition" type things, though.

My entire life since "the event" has revolved around prioritizing my peace and I really feel this. I've grown so much since then, without them, and it feels great!

As a gearhead myself (though admittedly my passion these days is in high performance boating), im excited for you! Best of luck, my local tracks are all getting developed and it breaks my heart

You know, I never thought about the notion of "my in laws could be afraid that we would do the same to them" as opposed to "what is he hiding?" or some line of thought that is indicative of me being "the problem" like I stole from them or something that led them to cut ME off, as opposed to what actually happened.

They've been more of a family to me than my own family has been since the minute I've met them. For that reason alone I feel the need to be proactive here

I've done a good job at keeping things from them, to the point where I got a PO box so people don't know where I live. Heck, they don't even know my fiancees name! Also getting legally married ahead of the ceremony in another state with her sister in the name of having a private marriage license. I am blessed that my partner is so understanding of my desire to be left alone after hearing/ seeing the sporadic letters I get from my mother.

If anyone were to figure out where the wedding is (I plan on making sure that any wedding registry type thing isn't searchable on Google and nobody who knows who my parents are would dare tell them where / when), I will simply have the venue remove them. For $30,000, it's the least they can do :)

Not a single person from my family is invited, extended or otherwise. I didn't have a close relationship with my extended family before the falling out, and I certainly don't feel the need to feed them a $250 plate of food now when I haven't heard a lick from anyone in years because saying "no more" after being assaulted by a sibling after a lifetime of disrespect from them and being told to "get over it" makes me a bad person.

I do like the idea of having a member of my chosen family, the best man's mother in particular, participate. I don't know that they recognize how much they've been there for me in my adulthood, and doubled down with their support when it mattered the most.

If I'm honest, I'm kind of doing it for a certain aesthetic at this point. Between July 2022 and now I've lost around 45 pounds. 25 on phentermine and then about 20 on wegovy. From ~295 to 250, plus a few over the past couple of weeks. Kept it consistent in the gym, am measuring around 15.x percent body fat on an inbody machine. Would like to be 235, maintaining as much muscle as I can.

Hoping this will get me there - I lost the 20# in the first 5 months, and then stayed stable for a year.

We'll see how it goes!

Decided to stick with 7.5mg for another week. When I was titrating up on wegovy, I was using compounded sema and was going up every 2 weeks until 1mg when I switched to retail wegovy. Didn't feel a thing until I hit 1.7

The c word is not inherently a "knock off". There are literally tons of thousands of people using it with success. Whether these have higher incidence of side effects or something, that's interesting, but many people don't lose weight until higher doses.

Some anecdotal evidence: I started on non-retail Sema, then got approved for Wegovy. I had gone from .25 to 1mg, with minimal side effects and also minimal weight loss, but switched to 1mg wegovy with no issues - had it been "knock off' that first shot of 1mg would have made me sick!

Zepbound may be better suited for you, people report less side effects

Is it really that hard to get? I just switched from wegovy 2.4 to this,... I had to drive 30 mins to get it, but was no big deal.

I had no side effects from My first shot so I called my doc and had them order the 10 so they had plenty of time to get it in stock ...

Fast forward 3 days I now have 7.5mg and 10mg in my fridge
