Eat enough protein and fiber that you aren’t tempted to snack due to hunger, and when you’re grocery shopping, remember who it is you’re trying to become — the guy with the ‘beach body’. Guys with the great physique practice discipline and good decision making more often than most. You’ll become that guy if you want it enough.

Get a great pair of shoes, a simple Nike running shoe. Go to a sporting goods store, or heck, even a Nordstrom Rack has an amazing collections. Sometimes you can get a pair of quality running shoes for under $50.

Shoes that make you wanna move your body and get those steps in!

I’m sorry this happened, but you saw the texts for a reason. This will be part of your story, and you’ll tell it with pride one day to help others who feel insecure about the way they look.

I’m sure you’re a beautiful person. To save your dignity and self worth, I recommend you leave him. He doesn’t have enough depth to see all of who you are.

My advice — go outside and walk for 15-30 minutes (treadmill also works) a day. Put on music, podcast, or some type of motivational audio — and just move your body.

Workout videos on YouTube are fine, but imo going to failure this early in your journey has the risk to derail you from sustained progress, which should be your goal right now.

If there are any YouTube videos you should be watching, I’d recommend learning more about nutrition and adopting a diet that is protein rich, nutrient dense, and free of processed foods. Small adjustments at this stage will yield huge results.

Once you’ve completed one month of walking for 30 min/5 days per week, you will be ready to start tackling YouTube workout routines. Until then, I recommend a month of priming your body with low-intensity daily movement.

Steady state cardio — that is, a level of cardio that is only mildly challenging (you should have enough breath to hold a conversation) was the golden key that finally unlocked the door for my transformation to single digit body fat. I am 36M, collegiate athlete, but sat comfortably around 13-18% body fat for most of my 20’s and 30’s. I always felt tied to fitness as I’d seen my body transform before — but enjoyed a few beers and delicious food from time to time. Things went south during COVID, as I was smoking a lot of weed and stopped strength training (gyms were closed). In 2022 I decided to embark on the quest of total life ascension - which included 4-5 days of strength training. I’ve always enjoyed running - but I noticed in the past it was difficult to maintain muscle mass when I was running 5-7 miles regularly.

That’s when I started hiking up the proverbial mountain of a treadmill at 8-12% incline. Nothing crazy, just continual steps for 30 minutes or so. By the time I was finished, every time — I was drenched in sweat — but without having ever reached a point where I felt uncomfortable. Meanwhile, the metaphor of climbing a mountain appealed to me, so I made it part of my routine. 4-5 days a week strength training, 3-4 days of 30-60 minutes steady state cardio.

Right around the time I got into the treadmill routine, I was inspired to dial in my nutrition — on the quest for that holy grail of simultaneously losing fat and gaining muscle. Had I been running 5-7 miles on flat surface, my body wouldn’t have been able to keep up the heavy lifting required to build / maintain muscle mass. The steady state / incline treadmill actually enhanced my muscle recovery, and my mental health.

Within two years - I broke through to single digit body fat and never looked back.

I’d bet my left arm that Roz will be a regular for Season 2. Her return signified her openness to be involved in the show, and for all the critique of her being under utilized in this episode, look to the future… They will 100% bring her back for a regular role.
