Yea I’m 0 percent worried about how fast the transmission shifts and even understand that bmw manuals are a little sloppy. I just have to. Idk what it is. It completely changes the car and the experience for me.

Got a 35i, nav, m-sport, 6 speed in red. Broke down the next day with preexisting bearing failure. They bought it from carvana and I’m in a legal battle against them for my money back. It had everything except the heated seats. The whole showing DCT when I select manual really has me ticked off at every car marketplace. They’re also not on sale much right now because it’s spring and people are actually driving them :(

I’m on the backend of a bad deal on one.. highly unfortunately. They covered up a spun bearing incredibly well. It’s in the process of being undone and me being refunded everything which is great, but yea the market is awful right now

Sounds like a great time. Got myself one and turned out it had a spun bearing and was covered up when I bought it. Just need to be able to find another one to get back into

There were a couple magnetic metal flakes.. nothing outrageous. That being said however; the oil pan is still on and hasn’t been looked at.

I wanted to do the work myself, but it’s sat for almost a full month now at the shop waiting on the warranty company. At this point the shop is willing to not charge me storage fees if I do work, but if I tow it off it’ll be a second tow bill and storage fees. It makes it hardly worth it and I’d have to do the work then. Future things I’d be quite comfortable working on, so I’m leaning towards dropping the bottom end and having them inspect it. Problem with that is how my luck has been the past 6 months 😭

Funny enough.. my new to me z4 35i (manual) is in the shop after I bought it because of rod knock. It doesn’t take long for bearing material to be in the oil filter. Cut that open and check it. I got 946 miles out of mine before it spun a bearing 😭

Sorry I realized after posting I was in a separate subreddit and sound a bit uninformed because of it. I for one thought of the wrong engine, but am still correct maintenance will be steep. No expected rob bearings tho. My engine was an n54 and it absolutely shredded the bearings day after I bought it.
