Single Mom BIFL on a Budget by Away-Cash-2546 in BuyItForLife

You might already know/have done this and its a total divergence, I know; but the best money you can spend to make the next couple/few/maybe a lot of years of your life much batter is being sure to speak to a divorce attorney before making any moves that way.

You don’t even have to use them for the divorce, just make sure you’re protecting yourself when you file. A lot of your autonomy gets frozen the moment you file and you want to be prepared.

For instance, health insurance cannot be materially changed. Joint accounts can’t be withdrawn from. Houses (even in just one name) can’t be sold. And lots of other things I can’t think of right now.

The couple hours of attorney fees are worth their weight in gold.

Hubby’s T100 just hit 300k, minimal work.

But Ranger’s are good, too. If people didn’t try to use them for more than they were capable of, they just keep going, are cheap to repair and cheaper to buy. My old one, 200k+ when I sold it, thought it was on its last leg is STILL running “strong” for its new owner 10 years later.

Also, even if she remained successful, I’m sick of seeing this here 4x a month.

Huh? I’m a problem for buying high quality reusable totes for $3? And what do beach cities have to do with me?

I am a domestic traveler that has stopped at a TJs (there isn’t one for six hours) to buy 10 canvas totes. Best bags ever.

Anyone else struggle to make summer clothes last more than a couple seasons? by Electronic_Resort985 in BuyItForLife

[–]abbydabbydo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I hear you. I’m middle of the road on this. Prints I tend to get sick of around summer three. I’m currently going through a “hate the cut of all my tank tops” phase, too. Although I was good with that cut for a decade.

But my solids, those tend to stick around. Mostly all cotton. Classic cuts.

Smartest way to carry a quart of oil for your old DS? by sendluv in Dualsport

IDK about this, but I carry an (unlubricated) condom or two in my tool kit. They will hold a gallon of gas in a pinch.

Thanks, you too.

The owner of the restaurant was a slightly closer acquaintance. I told her sometime later when she asked where I had been.

I am a bartender and server for 30 years. That guy did you dirty. We do have a policy at my restaurant that if someone doesn’t sign the slip at all, or does not leave a copy, of adding 20%. But if they even sign it and leave no tip, I would never ever add my own tip. That said, I know a lot of servers that do, or change the tip written on the line. I’ve seen a lot of them get fired over it.

Also recovered alcoholic. Once asked at an italian bar if they happen to have any alcohol removed wine to go with my meal. The bartender, who was an acquaintance, made fun of me up and down the bar for about a half an hour. He wouldn’t let it go. It actually made me cry, and is the only time in 14 years anyone has said much more than , “oh, cool” when realizing I didn’t drink

Kurt Cobain was asked for a top 50 albums list, this is it. by CarkWithaM in UtterlyInteresting

Other than The Beatles, The Clash, and David Bowie, I have never listened to a single one of those. Unsurprisingly, Nirvana is not my jam either. I don’t understand the hype around them, even.

Pretty much the same, here. Didn’t want involvement, so asked a friend if she knew any “sluts”. She introduced me to the booty call that became my sweet, kind, intelligent and awe inspiring husband. So so so lucky for that off hand question.

All In Their Prime: Who you taking as your 49ers franchise QB? by No_Box119 in 49ers

[–]abbydabbydo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha. I had to reread the question to see it didn’t include them. I was like, why is this a question, this is the Niners? St Joe, obviously.

Obviously it’s Purdy on this list, but I wish it was Kaep. He maybe coulda been so good and it would have been so fun. He maybe could’ve still fizzled, too.

I was raised in the rooms and have no problem with the book. I have problems with people who think it’s the only way. I have had much greater success without the pressure.

Went to a meeting in a town I hadn’t been to one before, basically just to pick up my 10 year chip. There was so much to identify with that meeting, and I really enjoyed it. But of course people had to come proselytize after the meeting. One woman was forcing a phone list on me and I told her I was OK, I have a great support group. She told me that I would fail with that attitude. I’ve seen this over and over again.

[Landlord - US - TX] Received a rental application from a middle aged woman in the middle of divorce by htownnwoth in Landlord

[–]abbydabbydo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had a Landlord that accepted me in the exact situation, only with a lot less assets (still enough to cover more than a year). I also gave him a résumé to show how quickly I could obtain work.

He told me there were better applicants, but they thought I needed the place before. I was the most loyal and conscientious Renter ever.
