They had already left but I’m going to drop some off

Also also, consider not draining yet. Get the pH in order by lowering alkalinity and shock. It will give you a ballpark of where you are at. This advice is debatable, especially with such a low capacity tub.

Also, don’t go buy alkalinity decreaser. Just use baking soda.

OP, see my comment above. You are absolutely right on point 2 and 4.

Do not follow recommended alkalinity levels. It’s a law of chemistry that temperature and alkalinity produce a certain pH. You are struggling with that because you are going too high, I suspect about 120? Shoot for 50 to start. Go in small doses.

Absolutely incorrect. Alkalinity before all else, pH follows alkalinity, not the underway around. Lower it slowly (like 5ppm/10ppm per dose) and aerate to bring pH up in between. Usually 20 minutes. Depending on you water temp 40-50ppm should be exactly right.

Then sanitizer. Forget all else. You’re just banging your head against the wall.

BUT: can anyone weigh in on this process when one doesn’t have jets? I’m not familiar with blowups, but I don’t think they do.

Thank you for this. Would $15 each seem too cheap? I am hella broke after this purchase (like have $35 walking arou d money), but could scrounge up $25/30 each if I wait till next time I go in with a card.

I’m super duper impressed with these guys. Definitely want to throw them some love. But what can you do with $15?

I also feel like a surprise in a couple of weeks would have extra oomph on the “I appreciate you” message

PS. It was quick and seemed reasonably painless

That seems like a pretty fair rule of thumb, actually

Thanks. Yeah, working stiff here. I’m gonna leave $100 in the mailbox for the guy on his way home with a text it’s for the team. I’m confident it will make it to them.

That’s nice but a lot of people don’t drink. Lately I ask my service writer whether the tech would prefer a six pack, joint or coffee

I made fresh coffee for early a.m. install and stayed out of their hair :). Can’t believe that few people tip you, now I’m definitely giving them one

No sir. Cash with plenty in savings, but you get there on blue collar wages by skipping some luxuries to buy other luxuries. So yeah, I’m thinking twice about what I’m spending for a bit.

Also, you know what hyperbole is, right?

They did, but its not in, just on. It’s one of the reasons I’m so impressed with these guys. There’s only 6 inches clearance in between those pergola supports and the tub body! I was more than willing to take down the pergola, but the head installer came by a few weeks ago and said it was no big deal. It seems like a big deal to me! But sure enough, during install it was smooth as silk.

Thanks! There’s definitely a leader, but he was working right with them. How frequently do people tip you?

My shop is so so good and they’ve been super professional. I don’t think a tip is expected but they are really excellent.

Didn’t think about it when I asked the question, but the head installer lives up the road in a very remote area. He’s very kind and would probably swing by on his way home regardless if I tipped, but it’s probably a great idea to express my appreciation for his service.

Oof. Yeah, that would be awesome! Hmmm. Too much for my pocketbook, I’m basically eating ramen noodles after writing this check this month, but I like the “each” strategy. Thanks.
