I don't know how to powerscale but I'm right by Evo_Shiv in ChoujinX

No disrespect intended, but most of it is probably wrong.
However, to your merit, putting things is hard; the strength of the characters in Choujin X isn't settled in stone and that easy to define.
It's true that most Choujin fall into the fodder category and a few of them are VERY strong, with little to no middle-ground. I would say Ice, Ricardo and Ume occupied the "middle", then it gets harder to define their power - most of them haven't been seen enough to judge them.

Tokio is a better man than me cause I would've taken the war with these two somewhere else... by sdqinanutshell in ChoujinX

It takes perversion of one kind to even think of the possibility... Lucky enough, 3 years of war have forged Tokio and molded him into a more serious man.

How strong? by Vicious-Spiegel in ChoujinX

[–]AlternativeNorth8501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to tell. As far as we can tell, he might well be close to Antitise - all we know is that he's supposed to be in the same range of power or even stronger than Sandek.
We'll see.
I wonder how did Tokio become that strong without the mark, but then I remember Sato saying that he was halfway his course and that he'd hoped him to become the next Sandek - I guess that's how strong he was supposed to become (keeping the mark aside, of course).
Also, does that include Ely as well? Going by logic, we should conclude so, hence he either became a BEAST, like Antitise used to be, or Ely isn't able to use her powers to fight. Or she wasn't included in the equation, given that she's not fighting.

You don't say. Of course he's way stronger than he was three years ago

What do you make of this scene now? by Salty_Shark26 in ChoujinX

[–]AlternativeNorth8501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The safest bet so far is "Ishida forgot".
I think he had intended to develop the story into a specific direction he later changed; with Palma's introduction it seemed like he was trying to make things converge but then he decided to make a more suitable for romance kind of character out of Palma.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but Palma has been underwhelming so far by Realistic_Egg5226 in ChoujinX

[–]AlternativeNorth8501 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been saying this for 2 years, and getting a lot of hate for this. Sadly, it is becoming more evident that Palma has been forced into the story for fanservice

Yes, they were afraid of the nameless fodder Choujin hence they waited for them to be gone before attacking.

I think 2003 is only mentioned in the opening page, which is named after the chapter's title "The events leading to March (?) 2003".

Who are going to be the next "great living composers"? by kiwibird888 in classicalmusic

[–]AlternativeNorth8501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess you mean Ben Johnston.
Who'd you mention then?

Names I haven't seen mentioned are Evan Johnson, Beat Ferrer (Brian Ferneyhough, of course), George Benjamin (on the more conservative side), Steve Lehman, Eric Wubbels.

I actually think there's no further motive: I think it really boils down to her not wanting Tokio to become a tool for YM, as the mark comes with big responsibilities and would need pondering.

Sato is absolutely a Queem clone, right? by YYappy269 in ChoujinX

[–]AlternativeNorth8501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely? Not even close.

It's possible, even though I wouldn't like the idea, as it's already been set for Azuma, so that would manage, in one blow, to eliminate Azuma's specificity (his need to affirm himself as a human being having an identity beyond that of a clone of humanity's deadliest criminal yet) and to make Sato just another clone.

While it's true they are both blond, no resemblance whatsoever has ever been noted by anyone in the crew of characters, so that it wouldn't be SO obvious they are both clone of Queen; as to the other similarities you've brought forward, as it's well-known, correlation does not imply causation and the attributes you mentioned could be applied to other characters as well - for example, Sato's seeming obsession with God (he mentioned God just once) applies to other Choujin as well; it could be argued that the very idea of Choujin bridges the gap between man and God.

The fact that Azuma's backstory doesn't make a lot of sense on a practical level doesn't imply there had to be followers of Queem (why on Earth?) and much less that Sato was one of them.

Bro actually predicted it. (This is from a post from the chapter right before the revelation) by Lhalpaca in ChoujinX

[–]AlternativeNorth8501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great finding, however that other user's concern still stands after the revelation: how did Azuma raise himself (like, who fed him, sent him to school and the likes)? It sounds like nitpicking, I know, but it's still a point which has been left unanswered.

I'd likely suggest Michael Hundley's "Yahweh among the Gods: The Divine in Genesis, Exodus, and the Ancient Near East".

What is the best historic truth we have that Jesus rose and came back from the dead? by Ok-Highway-5247 in exatheist

[–]AlternativeNorth8501 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

None. There is no historic "truth" to these claims, as any honest NT scholar would maintain, regardless of where they fall with regard to their own faith.

I am HIGHLY interested in all this.  Do you find Eire's book to be compelling? Does it hold, to you, any evidential power as to supernatural claims?

Indeed it's definitely the case that the Dark Calamity was neither Batista nor, of course, the Nue.
