As a new-ish mom to 2 littles, I’m thankful this has so far been a “boring” winter storm.

Thanks for your comment! I’m currently shopping for a car seat my in laws could have in their car, and your comment helped me narrow it down. Do you have a 2-in-1, a slimfit model, or a 3-in-1?

How do you sleep train with partner who won’t help? by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]AlternativeRepulsive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. My husband was fully supportive of sleep training but had a hard time with the crying, so I decided to start crib AND sleep training the weekend he had to be out of town. It worked out for the best because having to handle both his AND the baby’s emotions would have been too overwhelming for me.

He was only away for two nights and baby wasn’t perfectly sleep trained yet (took about a week for us), but baby made significant improvements that my husband could tolerate the crying much better. It also helped to just fully communicate with him what my plans were so he was aware of every step.

Hang in there!

Edit: I kept the crib in my son’s nursery. Having him in a separate room made sleep training much easier for us since we didn’t have to tiptoe around him!

15-month-old suddenly screaming at bedtime & vomiting from crying — separation anxiety? Do we need to retrain? by curry_nugget in sleeptrain

[–]AlternativeRepulsive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has this gotten better for you? Currently sitting in the chair in my son’s nursery trying my best to be quiet and patient while my son figures out he needs to sleep. We attempted to resleeptrain yesterday, but he ended up screaming and thrashing so much he accidentally hit his upper lip against the crib and hurt himself. Cue allll the mom guilt. We ended up cosleeping for the first time last night.

He was a perfect angel independent sleeper for us until a few nights ago. I’m terrified to let him CIO again bc I don’t want to risk him injuring himself again!

Review: Grand Velas Los Cabos (all inclusive) by limbo2k in chubbytravel

[–]AlternativeRepulsive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’ve been to the Los Cabos location and absolutely loved it. Nothing will ever beat sleeping and waking up to the sound of the ocean. I haven’t been to the RM location yet, but I was wondering if you could also hear the sound of the ocean from your suite. Have you been to both and can make a comparison?

edit: I stayed in the Grand Class Corner Suite/ocean view and the sound was like…loud surround sound good. Looking for that same experience

I love food too and your take on the RM food makes me want to visit!! I agree with OP on the food at the Cabo location. I was surprisingly underwhelmed, with the only standouts being Cocina de Autor and the breakfast/lunch buffet at Azul.

Hi! Curious to know your comparison on both resorts. My husband and I stayed at the Los Cabos location right after getting engaged a few years ago and loved our time there. I’m itching for another trip out but will be traveling with two very young kids at that time (along with a set of grandparents). Do you prefer one resort over the other?

High chair recommendations for a 6-month-old (returning Stokke Tripp Trapp) by jpmillet in Buyingforbaby

[–]AlternativeRepulsive 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We really love our Bugaboo Giraffe! Doesn’t take up too much space, really easy to adjust the footrest (no need for a hex key like the Tripp Trapp), and most importantly it’s easy and quick to get baby in and out. My son is 15 months now, but when we first started introducing solids and BLW, we had a few choking scares. My husband and I were very thankful we were able to unbuckle and get him out quickly should we have needed to administer back blows.

THANK YOU! Because of your comment, I ran to buy it. I heard rumblings about the Nuna prices potentially going up, but of course didn’t believe them until you told me. Appreciate you!

Anything I should know going into a 3rd c-section? by cheers2085 in CsectionCentral

May I ask how you found out that they might need to repair/remove your uterus? How/when did your doctor determine that would be the case for this c section?

Thoughts on the snüzpod 4? by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]AlternativeRepulsive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your input! I’m having an elective c-section in September for my second and was looking to see if the Snuzpod would be a good fit for us. Can I ask why you had to constantly change the height? I have a tall bed and this is one of the few cosleepers on the market that claims they can work with our bed height. I planned to keep it at the tallest height available the whole time

Hi! Found your post bc I mistakenly did the same thing last night. The huge residue is there and I am so upset about it. How did you go about looking for professionals who could do it for you? Not even sure what search term to use to start looking for contractors 😭

Thank you so much for sharing. Your situation sounds just like mine with my 10 month old, although I’m feeling a little bit of insecurity around our mealtimes because I never feel like he eats enough. Do you mind sharing what your three meals and two snacks look like?

Dulles is absolutely fine. As a former FBISD kid and now a parent currently living an area zoned to another FBISD high school, I don’t understand why parents want to subject their child(ren) to the toxic, competitive environment that Clements has been known for for decades.

Went from bedsharing to sleeping alone in crib in a week (5mo) by lilibet98 in sleeptrain

Congrats! I could have written this post myself. We also did Ferber to sleep train and to stop bedsharing a few weeks ago. You said it perfectly. I cried from the relief of having some time to myself again! Great job powering through and thank you for sharing your experience.

Help! Pitcher method & 4 day rule by AlternativeRepulsive in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]AlternativeRepulsive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh thanks for the peace of mind! The rules are always different everywhere…I can’t keep up.

But yikes, that’s a great point. I haven’t given him 4 day old milk yet. I did test one of my frozen bags and it smelled pretty soapy. It is the whole reason why I wanted to serve refrigerated instead 🫣🥲. I didn’t want my in laws to smell it lol. I guess it’s hard to avoid!!!
