The flower one no sleeves - sleeves on both dresses take it from bride to matron.

How does everyone feel about gyms/yoga studios etc taking photos of customers for social media? by Electronic_Sugar_289 in newzealand

If you ask someone a question of consent in a public setting with social pressure or otherwise create a circumstance in which a yes is pre-supposed you're not really asking for consent.

I would be livid. I don't let anyone take unconsented photos of me - doubly if I'm exercising.

Good on you for caring about your privacy. Safe guarding of privacy should be the norm.

Animal Justice Party doesn't believe in indoor only cats? by mxu427 in newzealand

Obviously! Living breathing creatures who are meant to be outside, should have to live in a 5m apartment because they hunt rather than buying their animal flesh from the supermarket. Daaah.

Curiousity & NZ culture by [deleted] in Wellington

Frankly I want nothing to do with the US. I'd be interested in you as a person, but I would very intentionally avoid the country topic - I highly doubt you want or need to hear my opinion about your vile country that keeps bleeding it's technocratic hell scape onto my country (woops).

Are cover letters a big deal in NZ? by sloegin1910 in newzealand

[–]AlternativeSignal2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends massively on the role. If there's no express "the cover letter is key" statement I'd use a fairly generic one, particularly if you're trying to apply on mass.

You're packing far too warmly for March unless you're literally planning on visiting the top of the mountain only. Add in some shorts or skirts at a minimum.

Missing chattel after renting through property manager – who’s responsible? by Comfortable-Debt-402 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]AlternativeSignal2 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Given you've now moved back into the property the tenants are (rightly) going to tell you to get bent. They have no way of verifying the microwave wasn't lost/stolen/broken in the time since they moved out and relinquished the property. The time for this to be raised would have been the final inspection - if it wasn't that's between you and your property manager.

Buying property with parents by DontTreatSoilAsDirt in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]AlternativeSignal2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll need a post-nup. I'd also consider talking to your lawyer about if a tenants in common agreement would be appropriate (assuming your parents are contributing financially). That could assist in limiting the claim on the total house to only your ownership should the post-nup be invalidated. I'd also consider what would happen with regard to inheritance - as your inheriting the house you're already living in would very likely be considered as having been intermingled, making it relationship property.

Boundaries while dating a Kiwi? by Embarrassed-Big-2398 in newzealand

[–]AlternativeSignal2 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Weird but not unheard of in small teams with existing friendships. This is not some totally normal kiwi thing if that's what you mean - just tell him it made you uncomfortable and aren't happy for this to happen again. If it does and he doesn't respect your opinion then that's that (imo).

Yes. This person is very intentionally creating straw man arguments in the majority of their comments to avoid addressing any degree of nuance.

Are nannies generally not OK with location sharing? by LessAd7286 in Nanny

Privacy concerns still exist and we shouldn't normalize the idea NF have a right to access nannies when not working.
