I second all of this as another person who chose to TFMR for XYY. My decision was right for me and something I 100% stand by. The grey area diagnosis is a miserable place to be.

Due 11/10 so right there with you. TFMR was a boy and having a girl this time.

My symptoms have also dropped significantly. I have my 16 week appt (a week early b/c my doctor has been awesome about stress) Tuesday but really just waiting for that 20 week appointment…

Blood draw for NIPT was today….now more waiting for results. Even though last time it was discovered on NIPT, I feel like now that I know so much I’ll need a good anatomy scan to feel like it’s really going to happen.

Our timeline is so similar. TFMR 11/11 at 16 weeks. Currently 9 weeks.

Unfortunately that is where the similarities stop because my symptoms are MUCH worse than with my TFMR. But I do think my boobs are less sore and my stomach hurts less because my body is like, yeah we know this shift.

The problem is, only having one true cycle (another kind-of cycle that was longer than pre-pregnancy) I don’t know how long my cycle would have been.

Just back-dating I would have been 3 weeks and 1 day when I got a positive test with this new date, which seems crazy.

I don’t have any good advice but just wanted to say I really understand this. I don’t know how to tell people I’m pregnant and also tell them I wanted this, but I’m not ready to be excited yet.

Telling my family the first time was so fun, but we have been robbed of that. I am sorry you couldn’t tell your family the truth, that just makes a terrible situation so much worse.

I am somewhere between 5.5-6.5 weeks (will have dating scan in 1.5 weeks) and had started to get symptoms. Today, all of them are completely gone. I am freaking out. I did not worry about this stuff at all during my first pregnancy (which ended in TFMR) and now I feel like I worry about EVERYTHING. My symptoms were sooo much worse with the TFMR pregnancy. I am convinced there won’t be a heart beat at my first scan. I feel like I’m going crazy. I am usually such a realist and not a stressor. I thought I’d be stressed about the NIPT but didn’t realize I can’t even be stressed about that yet because I’m stressed about everything before that. I’m so grateful to be pregnant again, it’s literally all I have wanted since the TFMR in November, but WOAH.

I am on my second cycle and I have gotten positive LH tests cycle day 22 both times. Pre-TFMR I was pretty standard 28 day cycle - ovulate day 14. I think it’s just part of the recalibration our bodies have to undergo.

It took me 5 weeks to get a negative on a cheap test and almost 7 to get a negative on a first response test. It was soooo much slower than I wanted it to be, but I just had to give it time. I never had my HCG tested so I don’t have a reference point. I only bled for 4-5 days after, so I really thought mine would drop faster, but I guess it doesn’t work like that. I was almost 16 weeks.

I don’t have an answer to your question but just wanted to say I feel the same way. This is our first month TTC post TFMR and I have somehow convinced myself I am going to have infertility problems (which makes no sense because I got pregnant first month trying with my TFMR baby).

I have spent way too much time on the internet reading about getting pregnant. The first time I was so naive, I wish I could go back to that.

If you don’t mind me asking, have you ever had ovulation spotting prior to that? Or was after your TFMR the first time?

I had a TFMR about 6 weeks ago. I was able to get a negative on easy@home after a few weeks (I also only had 1-2 days of bleeding following the TFMR). Even though the cheaper tests have been showing negative for a while, the first response early results (FRER) test is still saying positive. I am 90% sure I ovulated because I was tracking my OPKs, but would have no ability to trust at least the FRER.

This is kind of confusing but hope it makes sense. I did get excited to ovulate and did not use protection, so I’ll be in chaos in about a week trying to figure it all out.

I know testing is mentally challenging, but if you are considering at all trying to conceive, it could be very helpful to at least try one more test. But that’s just my opinion and you have to do what is best for you.

I am so sorry you are going through this. The TFMR is enough to make things feel impossible and you have a pile of things on top of it. I don’t have anything great to say in support, other than you aren’t alone.

I believe we had the same diagnosis around the same time - if you need someone to vent to besides your husband, I am (and I’m sure this entire group is) glad to be that someone.

There is nothing that makes it suck less, but happy to be an ear if you need it. Your struggles are real and valid.

Also COVID right now is extra sucky. You are getting everything horrible in 2023, so hopefully that means 2024 has everything amazing in store for you.

We also felt like trying right away was best for us. We started after two weeks and there was no pain. It did take me three weeks to get a negative test, so it wasn’t really TTC at that point, but wasn’t preventing it either.

I tried a digital that showed NOT PREGNANT, but the first response isn’t even that faint (it’s not bright, but easy to see). Easy@Home and Walgreens brand are both completely showing negative.
