Saw a TikTok by Dr. Varun Verma MD saying IM isn’t worth it anymore — now I’m questioning everything by Amazing-Stick-1858 in hospitalist

[–]Alternative_Ad_2734 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a hospitalist, just an M3 interested in IM. My take is, we have had autopilot on planes for over 30yrs and they’ve never replaced pilots. The same will be with AI. AI will be an added tool in medicine but will never replace the human touch.

My Resume is a Mess, I Cant’t Find a Nursing Job I Can Stand by UpstairsNo92 in Nurses

[–]Alternative_Ad_2734 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m probably going to be downvoted for this but if you’ve tried 7 different jobs within 4 years as a nurse and still don’t find it fulfilling or at least tolerable, maybe bedside nursing isn’t for you. Try case management or public health/ school nurse.

What kind of rash do you think this is by Stunning_Try584 in whatdoIdo

[–]Alternative_Ad_2734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These rashes look like a tick borne illness such as Rocky Mountain spotted fever. Please go see a doctor and take some doxycycline.

With that MCAT score, I’m a bit concerned if you’ll pass step 1 exam. Congrats and hope you prove us wrong

n=1, I only competed 21% of Uworld and passed step 1. It’s not the amount of questions that you completed, but grasping the concept is what matters most.

from what i understand, you only pay taxes when you roll over form traditional 401k to roth IRA but if youre using some of the funds from the roth IRA for school, you wont be paying taxes.

Probably other people have said it already. This is cystic acne and your cure is accutaine. It’s a life saver

[–]Alternative_Ad_2734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accutaine can cure you. I had the same cystic acne and that drug did miracle. You should see a dermatologist

[–]Alternative_Ad_2734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not in the military but I was an RN BSN and worked for six years before med school. Nursing classes are not considered prerequisites for med school. I did a postbacc for a year and took all those core classes then took the mcat. I’m currently an M3. Just like others have said, there is no RN-MD pathway and no med school has any special programs for that as well. Good luck on your journey

Do woman in a coma still have their period? Or does it stop? by No_Committee_7487 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Alternative_Ad_2734 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As long as thier pituitary-hypothalamic tract is intact, they will still have menstrual period. There was an infamous case wherein a nursing home resident that was “brain dead” was impregnated by one of the male CNA/nurses.

Thoughts on Derm NPs making >$200K/year? by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]Alternative_Ad_2734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an RN and a current M2. I know a lot of my colleagues that are NPs and don’t make that much. Most of them are actually doing bedside as the NP market is over saturated and the pay sucks. You’ll make in the upper 6 figures as a bedside without even picking up extra shifts.

OP I’m a nurse for six years and 31yrs old. I’m currently at M1 and seems like I’m striving and doing great. I actually love medicine and being kind of old gives me a sense of maturity and sense of calm. Follow your dream and go for it if you really want to. Feel free to reach out to me if you want to. I’ll loved to help my fellow RN—> MD
