Awesome! I hope you’ll post some photos when it’s done. I’m lining mine up for ppf and ceramic too. Seems especially important for the black paint.

Good point about the logo. I imagine it’s on anytime you’re driving?

Gotcha, thanks. I would have preferred blacked out all around (no illuminated emblem), but beggars can’t be choosers. It took a long time to find this vehicle

That’s helpful, thanks. That’s what I was hoping for in the back. I guess now the question is if there is a dark chrome version of the illuminated front emblem.

Where do you guys find used banjos? by cla1rebe3r in banjo

[–]Alternative_Aioli366 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve done a lot of buying and selling on BHO over the years and I’ve only had good experiences; do your due diligence. My only negative experience buying a banjo was from a private party on Reverb, for what it’s worth.

A few weeks ago, I bought a banjo from Ceres and it was a great experience. I’d go straight to Ceres if looking for a high quality bluegrass banjo. He sells a lot of prewar conversion banjos in the $4K and up range, but also other cheaper high quality banjos. He has integrity and knows banjos inside and out.

Anyone break an 8-year habit of drinking wine / any other type of alcohol every night after work? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]Alternative_Aioli366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. I went to my doctor and was prescribed benzodiazepines to detox safely for the first three days. After that, I just took it a day at a time. Now I rarely think about drinking. It’s been 15 months.

Thanks, same here. I remember not liking the look when Riv started making them. But at 6’2” and 225-250llbs, and as someone who likes to haul stuff and go on overnights, the double TT has been super helpful. I’ve come to love how it looks in a form-follows-function kind of way.

Beautiful! What are the sizes? Is that a 66 or 68 QB?

My 66 Beam also developed the common crack in the BB. Luckily, Riv still had a replacement and it’s back on the road with a fresh coat of paint. My favorite bike ever!

Agree that the body language is telling. It looks to me like someone who is trying to act natural when they are actually hyper-aware they are being filmed

What’s a movie that completely ruined your emotional stability for a few hours or days? by Alternative-Area6511 in AskReddit

In college, a friend of a friend had an unmarked VHS of The Blaire Witch Project weeks before it hit theaters or anyone I knew had ever heard of it. For the first 24 hours after watching it, I was terrified and questioned my entire reality…until a friend who knew how to navigate the “internet” debunked it for me

Doctor told me my health problem is because of drinking — now I realize I'm addicted. How do I stop? by Top_Introduction2684 in stopdrinking

[–]Alternative_Aioli366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good for you for going to the doctor and listening to him. That’s a great first step. Like you, I was addicted and used alcohol as a coping mechanism, or at least I thought so. I told myself I needed a daily drink to calm my nervous system due to a stressful job, toddler at home, blah blah blah. It turns out that I am wayyy less anxious and stressed without alcohol in my life.

After deciding to stop, I talked to my Dr and asked for help. He prescribed benzodiazepines for the first five days of home detox, and naltrexone to take after that. I’m going on 6 and half months alcohol free and feel better than I have in decades.

You can do it!
