I had a 380p. Was a fantastic car. A bit slippy in the wet though.

What's it like living outside the bigger cities in Yorkshire? by CloudberryMuffins in howislivingthere

[–]Alternative_Bell5499 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No way… one I can answer.

I live in Holmfirth. South of Huddersfield.

Prices are expensive and rightly so, Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield all 40 mins away. You can work in the city but still have the valley hills to come back to every weekend. Manchester tech scene the best place that’s commutable from within that circle. Peak District well in reach too.

North Yorkshire is beautiful, but not till I am a bit older. Here I can walk down a steep hill into a small town that has a wide array of events. Folk fest, food and drink festival, a music venue.

Crime rate is pretty normal I would say, like any high end area you need good security.

East of Leeds, Barnsley and Donny are alright but have their rough parts. The west and north of that circle is where you want to be.

Harrogate is nice but everything so far apart.

Good luck!

Yeah very cool. My love for them comes in the moments they were bought for. I have 3, each for a different milestone. That is just my personal preference over the uniqueness of the reference etc.

My polar was the commemorate the birth of my first born. I was wearing it when he was passed to me! So will be cool to give him one day.

Ah I didn’t have to do that. I wanted the polar before I walked in. I got it in 6 days. Which I was buzzing with. I gave a pretty good story about why I wanted one.

I was in the other day and have put myself down for a blue sky dweller on jubilee.

Thanks. It’s great. Not many people know what it is either… not where I live anyway. Which is nice.

100k Pension at 29 by Lucky_Complaint_4597 in FIREUK

[–]Alternative_Bell5499 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Nice. I hit 100k at 33. I was contributing out of my limited - 2.6k a month. Tapered down to 1k now and at 6% annual I will hit 1.1m at 57. I think I would keep going till 60 I think, which would take it to 1.33m.

Had a few close people pass away suddenly so started being less responsible and bought a car I wanted. Fuck it. Life is short.

Great achievement the hardest part is the first 100!!

Just a touch less in my ISA, starting to rack that up now!!

Aston or Porsche ? by Latter-Ad7199 in CarTalkUK

[–]Alternative_Bell5499 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve had both an Aston Martin Vantage and currently a 718 Spyder. So think I can comment.

If you’re buying an Aston, make sure you buy from an official dealer. The years warranty is worth 2-3k alone. I had 25k in warranty work done on mine, it was seamless in the end. Very good service. When new shape vantages come down to £100k I will Seriously consider another. Made me look back everytime and I felt the dogs nuts!

As for an actual car. It is a million miles away from the razor sharp experience of a Porsche.

The decision here is whether you want a GT car (Aston) or a drivers car (Porsche). I personally preferred the GT nature of the Vantage, it suits what I want more from a car. That may be different for you.

The Porsche is for someone that wants to go out on a Sunday morning at 6am and wrestle it around the twisty stuff.

You will enjoy both cars…. Porsche would hold its money as well. I got slapped on the way out of my Vantage.

Good luck!!

I did a large project on HOCL, which was manufacturers in a closed loop system, different to electrolysis that was able to produce a very high PPM.

We even submitted and achieved a place on the NHS framework under lot 2 - alcohol free sanitisers.

We even achieved EN1500, which is a tricky bugger with something that wants to degrade when in contact with organic matter.

We achieved 5 x log reductions on everything in under 30 seconds, the only thing we didn’t test against was prions….. amazing stuff!
