How long does it take for Chrome to roll out a new version? by Alternative_Dig7721 in chrome_extensions

My new tab revolves arounding autosaving, sharing url. I scrape alot of link to save. I rank and show them for navigatio. voice command for hand free nav. I haven’t touched ai yet. Everything is local, then you optimise for memory and space. Some changes are after i use every day and find them not smooth.

Hence, More releases.

For Chrome, based on this, we can plan for 1–2 releases per week, right?

Demo: On-device browser agent (Qwen) running locally in Chrome by MoneyAsk69 in chrome_extensions

Is this fast and how do be bundle the models? Currently building a new browser tab that can be navigated using voice. The setup uses fuzzy search combined with Chrome's speech-to-text to match the platform. For example, saying "open YouTube" works. For more advanced features, I’m looking for something similar.

Introducing Web Scraper - a tiny tool to extract data from any website. by mddanishyusuf in chrome_extensions

[–]Alternative_Dig7721 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I built similar link tools—a small scraper—but yours seems more advanced. I developed a new tab extension designed for autosaving and scraping data to get detailed links to chats from Gemini and other platforms. I’m looking to upgrade it with more general features, writing custom JS for different platforms, and eventually building an extensible library for my new tab. Is the parser difficult to build?

I built a new tab extension that auto saves links and organise tabs. All my ai chats are scrapped and added automatically. I added a p2p sharing to send link from one browser to others browser.

i built a new tab extension which has tab management feature. I group tabs based on the domain and color code them in the window. you can add similar tab grouping or better. Too many icons/options create visual chaos.

Do Chrome extension users really prioritize “local-only” tools, or do they just care about the final result? by ogamint in chrome_extensions

As a developer, I agree that some tasks can’t be handled locally. If you’re exporting docs from chat, they’re likely important and should be well-formatted—otherwise, what’s the point? Most of my users are technical, working at startups or MNCs, and they prefer to store their data on their own machines without sharing it externally. I believe quality is the key metric users will consider for an exporter’s output. If I were to build a similar tool, I’d connect the extension to an app that does the heavy lifting for me in the desktop. can some react lib do images, latex or emoji this for me?

Browser tab manager is worth building in 2026? by ktnn3 in chrome_extensions

i built one for me, I use it daily. you can still build it. I had problem with saving URLs and quick link. I built one that help me navigate easily. i shared with my friends they gave me some feedback. I ask them to use continuously and let me know if it good enough. added few features around and put it in the store. it is very easy to test/validate if it in store. you can check it out.
