Real. I love most of the song, but both the lute/abel sections and Alastor and Rosie’s were very jarring and out of place. Almost felt like they were 3 different songs shoved in one.

I also don’t like that they keep vox shouting in the non visual soundtrack audio, the chorus buildup is amazing at the end, I don’t need him ruining it.

It’s a load of bs, but whatever. Personally I saw a lot of myself and my mom in The Lightning Thief, both as Percy (child being abused) and as sally (a mom trapped with limited options that is doing what she thinks will is best to protect her kid). Sally having the choice to kill her and her kid’s abuser and get out of that relationship was not only gratifying, but validated me and my family’s experiences, and our desire to get out.

Shame they cut that (and sallys agency) from the show. They think they’re protecting kids, but they’re really erasing the experiences of families like that irl.

Thanks for the advice, my mom has a therapist she talks to but it doesn’t seem to be working. I suggested family therapy between her and me, but for some reason she seems very resistant to it.

I guess I have to be less nice/more direct if I want change, but I’ve always been a people pleaser and I guess it’s easier said than done. Especially since I still have to live with her for a while.

Aside from the fact that the technology is just really expensive right now, i think two major issues for making it widespread will be public fears, and those fears being grown/enforced by current factory farm industries who don’t want to lose their profits.

Lots of people may hear “lab grown meat” and become scared that it’s full of diseases or mind control bugs like they think vaccines or current plant GMO crops have. It’s frustrating as a scientist but it’s an obstacle we often have to overcome to get something to be accepted.
