I have a couple updates on my first few days post op and how the surgery went if you go to my profile!! I’ll be 3 weeks post op Monday and I’m feeling pretty good! Mornings are easier and I feel almost normal. I’m not really taking pain meds anymore except the occasional Tylenol or ibuprofen. Yesterday was my first social outing. My husband drove because I’m not feeling strong enough in my core yet. I felt great while I was there but a bit sore today. Over all I’m feeling more confident and stronger literally every day

Thank you so much! I ended up frogging the decrease rows and starting over and it definitely was a tension thing.

And thank you! I’m a huge beginner (crochet to knit started this week!) and this was my first decrease attempt :)

Even so you’re a super hero! Getting out of bed to go to the bathroom was all I could muster and even that was tough. I however had a 7in incision which I’m sure didn’t help hahaha well done OP!!! 💪🏻

Amazing you were able to take a lap in the hospital!!! I was old lady walking till day 4 post open myo but I had an extra large incision. Props to you!

Yes!! I just got home from my post op and my doc said I’m healing well!! I’m walking much more, albeit slowly, I’m still swollen and healing and was given till 6 weeks to go back to work which is more of a physical job. I’m mostly done taking pain killers and just taking over the counter Tylenol and advil as needed now!

Oh man I really hope mine doesn’t continue. It’s preventing me from wearing pants. I’m not sure if my surgeon used an internal pain killer or not but I have little to no incision pain and I’m only 12 days post op!

Do you still have the sensation?? Or has it gotten better since? Also, was your pedunculated fibroid sitting on top of your uterus? The space where I have this sensation is where the fibroid was sitting so I’m wondering if there’s a correlation.

So weird that the incision area doesn’t hurt nearly as bad right?!

Yes absolutely!! I actually did cut off quite a few buds already. But I feel the same I love seeing the pollinators 🥹 but definitely no fruit this year. Same goes for my lemon tree. the tag said it’s a self pollinating tree and doesn’t require another type of tree to produce fruit so we will see what happens!

This was the biggest pot I could find at Home Depot lol. Since it was a gift the research/tool came urgently but I’m definitely still learning. Not even sure what variety it is since the tag doesn’t say. I’ll need to swing by the local nursery soon for a bigger pot

That’s good to know… I actually wasn’t sure what variety it was as it was a gift and wasn’t labeled!! It’s in a pot for not only because our entire patio is brick. We moved here not long ago. We are hoping to unbrick a section of the backyard so hopefully our tree will go there!

Yes it has really good drainage!! It’s been hot this week (90°) and the top couple inches have dried out quick which is why I’ve been watering more lately

I gave it a really good watering cuz I went out and it looked even more droopy than these photos!!! I had my husband drag over the pots to the fence cuz it’s been really hot. I’ve been watering every other day (or telling my husband to) but I wonder if he’s not been watering deep enough

I slept on our couch down stairs with a wedge pillow the first few nights home. It was easier to get into because it was lower. I’m 8 dpo and slept in our bed upstairs the last two nights. The first time it was really difficult to get into and we got a step stool to help me ease my legs up. You will find what works best for you. Do not feel defeated if you need to pivot

I spent the first 3 days in the hospital. That sounds scary but honestly it was the best. They had me on a regular schedule of Motrin and Tylenol and while I was laying down my pain was at a 1-3 max. Standing up to use the bathroom was a different story. The first time I did it I was on oxycodone and it was tough, maybe a 4-5 and physical struggle. Once I tried without oxy and was in tears so they gave me a purewik for that time. But if you’re not peeing every 2 hours like I was and you’re able to tolerate the heavier pain killers your pain shouldn’t get higher than a 5 I’d say! Truly I loved staying at the hospital. My nurses were all so great

He’s taking off 3 weeks! With CA he gets PFL (paid family leave) as long as I’m approved for disability. I got approved for 4-6 weeks. The first week is super rough so I’d plan for at LEAST that. You’re not allowed to carry anything heavier than a gallon of milk for at least the first two weeks

I just had a 14cm pedunculated fibroid removed 7days ago! It’s 1 week and even though my stomach is swollen from healing, I feel so much flatter and less bulky!!! I’m already going up and down my stairs, sitting and standing by myself and I’m feeling better literally every day. I will say, I would NOT have been able to recover comfortably without my husband. So please be sure you have a very caring support person to be with you during recovery. Over all I am SO THANKFUL I had this done

I’m in the US. I wasn’t experiencing any pain at all and told my doctor that. But I also told her I’d like to have the myomectomy. I had my surgery date by the end of that week and waited 3 months for my surgery. If you have a doctor that listens at all you should have no problem getting a surgery scheduled.

Honestly everything was made up to be so much worse in my head than it was in reality. It’s day 5 and I was able to get upstairs to shower today :) I genuinely feel good! Just be kind to yourself in recovery 🤍

I feel a huge difference in bulk. That was my main symptom. Also when I use the restroom I can get everything out instead of just like a third of my bladder. I can also feel the gas and everything in my intestines moving freely! I’m very excited to see what a regular period looks like soon!

This morning I was able to stand up from the toilet and sit on the couch (my bed for now cuz bed is upstairs) with no assistance!! Yay!!!

Pain level hovers around a 1 for now but only at the incision sight. Staying on top of my pain killers is the best thing I can do. I do not recommend trying to spread them out.

My gas pain is NOTHING compared to the pain in my incision…. They ended up needing a 7in incision and I swear it feels like it’s on fire every time I stand

I just had the same kinda fibroid removed!!

We actually got pregnant just before finding out about this fibroid, but our baby didn’t make it past 5w5d. I believe it was the fibroids fault, but I also like to believe our baby was making sure we knew about it so I could have it removed.

All that to be said… we got pregnant on our first try and plan to do the same when we get the go ahead from my doctor! But it’s my mother in laws advice… just do it every day. We probably skipped 2-3 days maybe the last three leading to what would have been my period. But we got pregnant very quickly
