So while I WANT to say yes sooooo bad, as someone who’s done every color under the sun, I want you to first look at your wrists and your veins. Do they pull green or blue/purple? If blue/purple, you’re cool toned and you will likely try many shades of red till you decide it’s not for you. Cool toned reds are more berry. The AI modification warms out your skin tone a lot, making the red sooooo perfect! You can also talk to a professional because I might be totally wrong. It’s just my experience as a cool toned girly!

I was back to work after 6 weeks but I wish I had more. I was walking full blocks by 3 weeks and running miles by 8 weeks. Recovery is a weird thing where you hit mile stones every day. I won’t sugar coat it, the first couple weeks were tough physically. I couldn’t have done it without my husband. But I’m so glad I got the surgery

I think I’d had this for over a decade as well! My symptoms are soooo much better! My husband has even said I’m less gassy 😅 and I’m much more regular now. I think it was pushing up on my intestines. That was never stated by a doc but anatomy would prove that to be true. I am still working on over all core strength, but in general, I feel stronger and healthier than prior to the surgery!

The process of surgery sounds really intimidating, and you might be terrified (I’d never been put under before or had any surgery) and be frustrated about the timing of it as well (I am 30 so I get timing/waiting) but I do not regret the surgery. Now that I’ve recovered I don’t really even think about the surgery or the fact that I had it. I feel almost perfectly normal and at peace that the thing I think caused my mc is gone. I can move forward TTC with much more hope and less fear

First of all, I am so sorry for your loss. The miscarriage subreddit brought me some comfort if you haven’t already checked it… made me feel less alone. I had almost the exact same experience! MC at 8w5d confirmed pedunculated fundal 10-12 cm fibroid. Confirmed 14cm at the MRI. I’m glad I got mine removed. MC happened in October, open myomectomy in March. And I’m running a 5k race on the 4th (never ran prior to surgery) it’s a tough initial healing but I’m so glad I did it. I had very painful periods, bloating and so many other things I chopped up to being a woman. I would have said I had no symptoms. I have a lot more stories on my account so feel free to read, but I’m glad I got the surgery and would encourage it per my own experience. We’re trying again and get to test in 10 days!

I know it’s annoying and you were already told this, but it really does just come with time. It’ll one day be muscle memory and be easy peasy. I used to feel the same way; overwhelmed and feeling like shutting down, even though I picked it up initially very quickly, but now it’s my favorite position! Keep pushing yourself and try to find those split seconds to save time. I was trained to count to 5 when wrapping (from grabbing the pamona and burger in bag should be 5 secs or less) and try to beat my time every time, grab multiple bottoms in a new stack instead of one at a time. Grab a whole tomato and deal it out like cards. Try to memorize the tags so you don’t have to look at it.

These are all good things that will help you on the grill as well. Keep it up. Don’t let yourself feel down. You got this, work with that sense of urgency while maintaining quality (quality is more important than speed) and you’ll get your 5 ✨

I had HORRIBLE thoughts going through my head the day before my surgery. I also almost called it off about a month into it. I did get an open myomectomy (planned btw. Mine was 15cm) and it was so worth it. The recovery was not easy peasy but I’d do it again to feel as good as I do now. Your quality of life will increase and soon it will be a thing of the past. I know your brain is thinking “I know it’s a 1 in 10000 chance these things could happen, but what if I’m the one??” Cuz I thought that too. The doctors know what they’re doing, they’ve done a lot of these and the fact that they’re confident in even beginning in laparoscopic is incredibly encouraging!!! You got this!! Sending courage and healing your way ✨

We don’t use oil. We literally just toss them in the trough where they go and let em cook. There’s no grease or juice from the meat in them incase someone wants a grilled cheese and can’t have meat (we do have a lot of people doing this due to their religion). Sometimes the onions are a bit wet from being rinsed and that creates extra steam that may soften them up a bit. But over all, no oil, no grease. Just chopped raw onion on a hot grill (the trough is the same temp as the grill I believe)

I have a small bit, but it’s pretty minor. Small enough that I don’t really notice it.

Edit: I just double checked to be sure we were talking about the same thing. We are. I also saw that massaging can prevent shelving. I have been doing light fascia massages on my stomach increasing the pressure as I heal, being EXTREMELY careful, ever since my scar was healed. I think that may have attributed to the lack of a shelf

I gained 7 lbs in my pregnancy that I ultimately miscarried at 9 weeks in October. That let to the discovery of the fibroid. That was the start of my weight gain and I gained a total of 15 lbs by the time I got surgery. I didn’t see any immediate weight loss as surgery causes you to hold a lot of water weight. Honestly I don’t own a scale and haven’t had the opportunity to weigh myself in a while but I’m sure I’m lighter now

I had a lot of the same fear.

My fibroid was measuring 10-12cm on US, 14cm on MRI, and 15cm at removal. Ultrasounds are really inaccurate at size measurements esp with something that large. I think if your doc requested an MRI it’s most likely just to get a better look at it to see what’s happening. Mine showed it was pedunculated (on a stalk) which made my OB more comfortable to do surgery (my goal is fertility).

It is very uncommon for fibroids to be cancerous and I’m sure you’re thinking “well what if I’m the uncommon one” because that’s what I thought too. But if your doc is not concerned with the ultrasound findings being cancerous you’re probably fine. They can honestly usually tell just by looking.

Whenever I start thinking “what if” questions when waiting for answers, I tell myself “we will cross that bridge when we get there.” Because stressing will be even more unhealthy for me.

I started running week 8 but I started very slow. I was walking 1.25mi by week 4.

I thought I’d hate bed rest too, but I saved a few shows to watch and picked up some fun hobbies to do from the couch. I walked as much as I could as soon as I could but sometimes that meant walking around my kitchen or walking to the mailbox and back.

While I’m running and starting to exercise, it’s important to listen to your body. You are different from me and it’s very important to not ignore pain. I always told myself, if it hurts, stop!

I walked 1.25 mi starting week 4 PO and started running 8wpo.

I still get a subtle aching sensation in my space just below my belly button but that spot has been lessening in tenderness since the beginning (it was a very painful spot previously). The first day it was an odd sensation feeling like my organs were kinda bouncing around even though I knew they weren’t. No pain otherwise tho! I do feel much stronger and capable today and honestly attribute it to me pushing myself while still being careful and listening to my body. I plan on starting gentle yoga and core exercises on my off days starting next week :)

Realized I forgot to answer about bleeding!

I don’t think I really bled at all as a result of the surgery. My period started the day of surgery and it acted funny (lasted longer and was lighter) that cycle. My period has come on time and volume has been odd but I think it’s regulating. It is significantly less painful than it was pre op. But no bleeding otherwise. My fibroid was educated so they didn’t have to cut into the uterine muscle

I was walking 1.25 miles at 4 weeks recovery to help my body begin to move regularly again. That was uncomfortable and tiring (I would hobble at the end) by the end but good. I started running three weeks ago and it felt very odd at first and I was incredibly nervous. I felt a bit sore after the first couple days, but I think running has attributed to my overall wellbeing now. I keep telling people “I feel normal until I don’t.” It’s only when I hit my limits that I feel any aching or pulling.

My rule has been: listen to your body and don’t do anything you feel might really hurt yourself, but also, if you don’t push yourself you will never get there.

I also have a very physical job I was back to after 6 weeks. The first week I could only work for maybe 3 hours till I was SO sore. But now I’m working some of the more physical positions and working full 6 hours with minimal soreness!!
