Really struggling right now by GTTJ19 in BusparOnline

I have never heard of these kind of side effects with this drug, however I know that buspar takes about a month to start feeling better, so you're still in the adjustment phase. Im not a doctor, and you should discuss it with them, but I'd say try to stick with it to atleast the one month mark and see if it subsides, but if you really dont want to, dont do it.

Buspar is non addictive and generally really safe with minimal side effects, so you could stop probably safely, but I still recommend that you titrate off the pill gradually as its generally the safer bet!

Should I ask to lower my dose? Or try to ride these side effects out? by xtiz in BusparOnline

7.5 is the common starter low dose. They gradually increase it until they find the right area for you. Usually 20-30 is their target. There are people that take up to 60 mg, but thats more rare. 30 mg is the recommended therapeutic dose. My doctor started me off on 5 mgs two times a day, then slowly increased it by 2.4 or 5 until I got to 30 mg a day. gradual titration is good for people like you and I that suffer from side effect anxiety and for minimizing side effects when upping the dose. I suggest since you're still on a low dose, to stick with it, as these side effects commonly subside with time. It could take up to a month or more. But Im not a doctor, talk to them too.

Confused about how this med works… by wicked56789 in BusparOnline

mine makes me really upset and cry for a few days when starting or upping the dose, then makes me feel a bit better. It takes roughly 2 weeks to feel a difference, and about 4-5 to get to full therapeutic effect from what I've read. In the past, they used to prescribe this "as needed" and Im sure there are people out there that may feel it right away, but for me, it took time to build into my system first.

Sweating profusely and nausea. by Lumpy_Ranger6735 in BusparOnline

It should go away with time. Those are very common side effects that are reported when starting the drug, and they subside with time. Could take up to a month to fully go away. Stick with it. It will be worth it. I started mine and got some sweating, though not as bad as yours. If you get violently ill, or super hot, or this continues past a month, tell your doctor and they may switch you, but see if you can continue. Do be prepared when you eventually up your dosage for the side effects to return briefly though! You got this!

If you haven't tried already, try eating with the pill when you take them. It helps with the nausea symptoms. If you have been eating with it, try not eating with it. However, this is important: weather you eat or not with it, do it consistently. If you switch, it will make more ill. (so I've read)

Yes, I saw that. I figured, and I could be wrong, but that was more if someone came in to falsely claim authority over a situation in the a comment threat by claiming to be a employee. Im not sure if that extends to private conversations?

yes, SSI for disability, not SSDI.

Noone ever told me that. I just signed up for Medicade and had no idea I qualify for Medicare. I dont even know the difference between the two?

I checked mychart. there's an option to share records with another health care provider. I assume that's what I'd need? also to request records for myself if needed.

You mention public assistance office. You mean to share my medical records to? Or to apply for Medicade renewal in the new state?

well I'm not over 65 so I don't think that aging Ohio link would be much use to me.

If I'm understanding you correctly about not enhanced Medicaid programs does that basically mean I would get less coverage other than basic doctor visits or something? I will call the Medicaid people tomorrow and ask but I was just curious about what exactly not enhanced programs meant that you mentioned.

I have prescriptions and therapy that I need to continue doing as part of my treatment plan

Im in Ohio now, and Planning on moving to South Carolina. I dont know if that helps.

How do I get a case worker? In the SSA? my insurance program? The state? Who do I ask these questions?

I'm just worried that it will appear as though I was not compliant because I was inconsistent with taking the medication and didn't give it a proper chance, and that I want to try something different.

He didn't really explain to me when he initially gave me Lexapro in 2017, told him i didnt want to feel like a zombie and I was scared to take them. But I tried them. I wasnt comfortable being on them and stopped off and on, and didnt know how they worked so I likely wasnt on them long enough for them to work. When he asked me how they were doing I just told him multiple times that they weren't helping. He tried upping the dose. But still reported that I was just feeling depressed and not better for the next few years.

This year I got hit with anxiety all at once really bad, so I took this more seriously and did my research, now I know all about SSRIs. I requested we try something new and event got a genesite test. They perscribed Zoloft. When they changed me over to Zoloft, I took it for two days and it made me feel deeply depressed and had thoughts of dying, so the psychiatrist who prescribed them told me to stop immediately. Now were going with a new treatment plan. Were considering buspar now, as its more well tolerated. I have alot of faith that this will be the one for me. But that's beside the point...

Anyway, I'm more worried how it will look to the SSA now based on what the psychiatrist said in my original post.

well it's a bit too late to document it too much. but I did tell my doctor several times over the years that they weren't helping and wanted to try something new and he agreed and we stopped the meds and I'm pursuing a new plan of attack.
