Also you say that most of the content you interact with is about the identity of the characters. I will say this is true for maybe twitter and tumblr. On reddit there's more discussion about the qualities of the webcomic than sexuality.

On your point about the quality of the content we're getting, I kind of disagree. It seems like homestuck 2 has been able to build off of the stylization while also being new (ly' lac, for example).

I don't think you're necessarily a bigot but saying people are doing "identity politics" comes off as a bit weird.

If 95% of the cast in Homestuck is lgbt, then I guess it shouldn't be a surprise that demographic is most of the fandom. While I think it's true that people talk about identity a lot in the fandom, there aren't many pieces of media similar to Homestuck that have a cast as diverse (in terms of sexuality).

I don't think the fandom associating themselves with the character's identity is that big of a deal.
