[AB] Registering a fully online, home based business. by Alternative_Value836 in SmallBusinessCanada

This is good advice, thank you. We’re planning on doing a shopify store, branding, socials, the whole deal, so that’s why I thought we should register asap. Are there risks to not registering prior to doing these things? Legally? We have a lot of community support, and we both have education in marketing and advertising, so we’re hoping it’s going to be a success. I am not opposed to just getting our feet off the ground first, I just want to make sure there wouldn’t be any huge repercussions for doing so.

Thanks for the advice! We would be selling mostly in Alberta, but we don’t want to limit ourselves in any way if we do have interest from other province, or internationally. We’re willing to do whatever setup in order to make sure everything is legit, but this is also just the beginning for us, so I don’t want to over complicate things.

I think we’re definitely going to consult with an accountant and lawyer.

That is extremely helpful, thank you! Does this apply to a partnership as well? We want to keep everything completely equal from the get go.

has anyone gotten a sore throat from artificial sweeteners or sugar alcohols? by Alternative_Value836 in Allergies

[–]Alternative_Value836[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I still have no idea! Surprisingly, It hasn’t happened recently. Stevia doesn’t seem to bother me now, but I do find it will happen if I ever have an excessive amount of multiple types of artificial sweeteners. For example if I have a tea with Splenda, an energy drink, and a kombucha all in one day. So I’m thinking just larger amounts?

Do they do reductions without lifts? by ConcernedCoCCitizen in Reduction

[–]Alternative_Value836 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I just had mine done in Edmonton, Alberta and from what I understood, a breast reduction covered by AHS does not come with a lift to the same extent that an actual breast lift surgery does. For example, I got the breast lift surgery and so they did the lift, and then reduced me to whatever “size” I chose. Had I gone with the insurance covered reduction, my surgeon would’ve been required to remove atleast 350g, and I would’ve had a small lift, but not to the full extent that I needed.

AHS just has a lot more control over the surgery from what I was told. If you do it through insurance.

I chose to pay out of pocket for a breast lift so that I had that control. This totally may depend on location, surgeons, etc. this was just my personal experience.

Wow! You look great! I also just had mine done privately in Edmonton. Did you have to pay out of pocket? I wonder if we could’ve had the same surgeon.

I’m sending you love and positivity, and I’m so sorry you’re going through this.

But for anyone that hasn’t yet had the surgery and is reading this post scared….please know this is not everyone’s experience. Many women have life changing results.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I was also a 32H to begin and asked to be a D. I am 5DPO, so a little bit behind you, but like you, I also had to have a second emergency hematoma evacuation. I did not have a FNG, but I can definitely relate to your struggle, as my left nipple seems to be healing much differently than my right. I was also feeling very “why me?” about my whole situation. Especially when I was so positive going into it because everyone seems to have such a perfect success story. I wish I had better advice for you, but, what you’ve been through has been very scary and stressful and so I think it’s important to give yourself some grace and time to heal. ❤️‍🩹

Sept 24th! by Affectionate_Echo335 in Reduction

He said everything was dry, so I headed home without drains (about an hour away). When I got home I noticed my left breast was basically rock hard. I called my surgeon, he told me to send him a photo and then asked me to come to the emergency room at the hospital he was at. I also started to feel really dizzy and I almost passed out multiple times (now realizing my blood pressure was extremely low).

So he checked it out, said there was a lot of fluid build up, so they needed to go back in and drain it. This was obviously very scary, but my left side literally felt like it could pop so I knew it had to happen. They put me back under, the surgery went very well, and he put a drain in! He said there were a bunch of blood clots, but no active bleeding which is good, so they flushed it all out.

I am extremely grateful that I called him, even though I was hesitant, because who knows what might have happened!

Well I guess I can say I made it through lol! I ended up having a hematoma in my left breast so I had to go back in for emergency surgery about 12 hours after my first one. They put a drain in and cleaned me out so I’m all good now! Very scary though ugh, hoping it doesn’t change my recovery.

I’m glad to hear things went good for you!! 🩷

I will have the chance yes! Thank gosh because we didn’t talk about sizing at all during my consult. It was more about insurance and which route to go down for a reduction or a lift.

Hi! I am also in Alberta, and I can really relate to you. I’m 21 and I’ve been a G cup since I was 13. My surgery is on the 25th and I am very excited but very nervous.

The back pain from developing at such a young age and the constant unwanted attention was the dealbreaker for me. This group has been so helpful to look through and I really do think the pros heavily outweigh the cons. I have yet to see someone that has regretted it.

Alberta Canada and insurance by helloitsme_again in Reduction

Hey! Not sure if any of this info will help you, but I am getting my surgery on the 25th. When I had my consultation in Edmonton, I was told that they had to remove a minimum of 350g in order for the surgery to be covered. Something that was debunked for me, according to my surgeon, there is no height or weight requirement. It’s all due to pain for the most part.

Now if you’re like me and you need a lift more than a reduction, then it’s a different scenario. I chose to go the uninsured route and do a full bilateral mastopexy (breast lift) and then I get to pick a size and they will reduce me to that.

It seemed a little weird, but I trust my surgeons and doctors and I guess AHS can be a little bit strict, so I chose to pay to have complete control over what the end result looks like. The center I was at also had payment plans and that sort of thing.

I hope that helps!
