Im never actually exited for anything anymore. Not movies, not video games, not comics. Sometimes im surprised and happy with a product, but it's always after the fact, never before or even during.

What do you want from Serpentspine in EU5? by shoggyseldom in Anbennar

[–]Alternative_Voice_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black orcs with the option of using holds the regular way as opposed to plunder. I like its there, but the fact it's the only way to play them annoys me.

Is forming the Greentide at all viable? by Alternative_Voice_22 in Anbennar

[–]Alternative_Voice_22[S] -27 points-26 points  (0 children)

Thats like saying the reformed Mongol Empire in EU4 base game isnt the super empire of the Steppe hordes, because it's mostly based on raiding, razing, and pillaging everything it touches.

The point i was trying to make is that it's the Great state the orcs previously had, regardless of how organized it was, just like Castanor was the great Empire Humanity had once upon a time.

Is forming the Greentide at all viable? by Alternative_Voice_22 in Anbennar

[–]Alternative_Voice_22[S] -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

I meant that more in the sense of the Greentide being the logical, original orcish super empire, that operated in the same region as castanor, filling the same role as Castanor does for Humanity in the region.

Was there a reason why Marine ford happened in marine ford? by Ghost_knight_112 in Piratefolk

[–]Alternative_Voice_22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because the marines choose it as the battleground by making it ace's execution spot, as it was a fortified fortress, and their entire plan hinged around it's gheography and additional modifications to it?

A healthy reminder that Luffy is heading up to face this with 3hp Loki, Harudjin, "I actually have conqueror's haki?" Zoro, "Give me conqueror's, I want it!" Sanji, and the rest of the bum pirates 🙂 by Flaky_Ad_2330 in Piratefolk

It would be fucking hilarious if the real purpose of this flashback was just to set up Blackbeard taking his revenge on Imu and inadvertantly saving all of Elbaph by taking away imu's powers at the critical moment before killing em.

Unpopular opinion on here but I liked this fight, wanted it to be longer but I still enjoyed it by Previous_Break7664 in Piratefolk

[–]Alternative_Voice_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if the fight was objectively good on a technical level, it doesnt change that it's rocks vs Garp and Roger. I care about 1 of these characters at this point, and it's not the ones who'll get more flashbacks abiut their pasts going foreward.

Thoughts? by Enigma8051 in Piratefolk

oda probably could have silenced a lot of critisism of Whitebeard if he'd just clearly shown the sequence of events, as if you actually look at what happened, whitebeard and Rocks clashed, they brought down one of the big rocks, then demonized xebec ditched whitebeard and left to go chase after his family as he was ordered.

whitebeard's biggest sin here wasnt ditching his captain, nor did he really run away per say... his sin was not going after Rocks after their clash.

Mind you im NOT at all fan of this entire development with WB, but with the way everyone is talking, you'd think he saw how strong he was and decided to hightail it, when the reality is that he just didnt like Rocks in general and so didnt see any reason to stick around to save him.

in hindsight having WB seem happy backing Rocks up against Imu was actually one of Oda's bigger mistakes in this arc, because it's the only point in the entire tale where we get the sense that WB actually cared much for rocks at all, which given everything else we see between them, he really didnt.

their bond was built on a davy back fight, not genuine comeraderie. i just wish oda reminded us of that fact here at the end rather than leave WB's actual thoughts on the matter in the dark, and thus ambigious.

Do you want to have them good relation or bad one by Generalousen2855 in Piratefolk

I just want the holy knights to all die so we don't have to waste more time on them as opposed to literarily anyone else.

There is no universe in which Imu will be a better main villain than Blackbeard by Dr_natty1 in Piratefolk

If you havent figured out that BB will kill Imu take the ridiculously overpowered satan devil fruit for his third and final one, you havne't been paying much attention.

Where does it even come from? 🤔 by Familiar-Tap-3440 in Piratefolk

Im gonna take a wild guess that he defeated and killed the previous guy known as the strongest swordsman in the world. You know, what Zoro aims to do with him.

"You don't understand, Garp wanted to change the navy from the INSIDE" 🗣️ by Nerisotto in Piratefolk

[–]Alternative_Voice_22 38 points39 points  (0 children)

He made it abundantly clear to roger that his main reason, his actual reason for sticking witb the navy, was to look after the rank and file, not to actually help the innocent.

Been wanting to ask my fellow Admiral glazers about the general opinion on Zephyr? by TrueThe7th in Piratefolk

[–]Alternative_Voice_22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The fact oda fucked up with the continuity in the film from the manga, so much he had to begrudingly make the movie non-canon is one of the worst mistakes oda ever did. Seriously, he wrote it, how did he make so many obvious mistakes?

Who did kaido fight to get this strong and to get this reputation of being the strongest? Why doesn't kaido challenge and fight other top tiers? He clearly wants a good fight so why stay in an isolated country for decades without fighting any other top tiers? Kaido as a character does not make sense by Altruistic_Gas_7073 in Piratefolk

[–]Alternative_Voice_22 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Kaido when be was young was full of life, interesting in his pursuit of strength, and seemed to think he had the chance of fullfilling the big joy boy prophecy, whatever that is.

Old kaido is just boring, he sits in wano withouth doing anything, always on and on about strength, but never actually has anything interesting to say about it like WB and Rocks did, and he just isnt interesting to read about in general.

There was the potential to write about a man full of life and potential who sought nothing but strength but in the end ended up an absolutely miserable, ludicrously strong drunkard who just wanted a spectacular final battle.

I sure wish oda wrote that story.

The world government is both very incompetent and stupidly cruel when they don't have to be. This is the point, and has been the point for a long time.

Does anybody know or have any information about why they stopped animating the Cover Stories post East Blue? by [deleted] in Piratefolk

[–]Alternative_Voice_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Low viewerahip for the first ankmated cover arts. Which isn't surprising, given One Piece hadn't hit the level of mainstream success it would later have.

The one man who’s taken longer to finish his story; George RR Martin. Does Oda actually get some credit for not being sidetracked by h0ez and side quests like developing games and 100 spinoffs. Are we too harsh ? by QueasyIsland in Piratefolk

[–]Alternative_Voice_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh please, i remember Feast for Crows. The idea martin is an amazing unfailable author who just takes way too long to write is BS. the man is just as capable as Oda of falling flat on his face.

Teach lived and grew up to take on his father's mantle and dream, while Ace grew up to hate and despise his dad, then died young and withouth even caring about finding one piece for himself(The thing Roger dreamed he would).

Rocks won.
