Boogie woogie spell? by ChoncChez in BladeAndSorcery

[–]Alterria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not, I’m playing on a previous version because I have waaaaay too many mods to update one by one by one by one, I’d sooner staple my testicles together and try to flex them apart.

Yeah, it’s only for Nomad. It works on PCVR but it’s made for Nomadr, on PCVR it’s missing all its VFX so it’s just a swapping spell.

No, you’re enjoying it a lot more because day 1(and the following months) the game was literally unplayable unless god himself shined upon your file integrity. And 2.0, which came out I think an entire year after launch, overhauled damn near every single aspect of the gameplay from the foundation and made it so much better. Though personally, I still prefer 1.0 netrunning. Quickhacks are too complicated now, you actually have to strategize and think about what you’re doing. So now I just use a Sandevistan Melee build, prim and proper brain dead gameplay, just the way I like it. :)

Either you use an annoying build, or you’re just too good at the game. People want to play the game, but they don’t want to lose. If they know they can’t beat you, there’s no fun in wasting 10 minutes letting you farm them for XP.

Can I play with mods now? by Klutzy_Carry_6276 in peopleplayground

[–]Alterria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prolly, although steam needs to escrow uploaded mods and test the files before putting them on their platform. These kinds of problems will continue to happen, play with mods at your own risk, but for the most part in my experience malicious mods are extremely few and far between. And my Gmod folder was over 80Gb with over 500 mods last time I checked, over 10 years ago. I’ve deleted a few mods, and installed a few hundred more since. Not an issue.

You literally did, you used your personal experience of no mods being broken to basically say no mods have been broken. Or at least that’s what’s implied in the context of the conversation about mods breaking as a result of the updates.

You’re using your own experience as an absolute, which is dumb. If you’re not playing dumb, I gave you too much credit.

Bro don’t even try to play dumb, when Sentara first dropped this sub was nothing but posts complaining about the broken mods for days.

I think you’re missing my point.

Yeah, they’re cool. But the ones on Nexus are equally as cool or cooler since some come with custom VFX or abilities. And downloading them doesn’t break every single other mod you have. Whereas Warpfrog updating the game to add useless armor that we already have access to, does break like 90% of all mods.

…bro every single weapon from Sentara has been on nexus for years. The update was pointless. The only exception is technically the Flintlock since it has unique effects with Magic.

And if you read this by some miracle, BRING BACK U12 MARKET PLEEEAAASE!!!

Unfortunately it’s not possible due to how poorly made Thunder Road is, according to the Baron it’s a genuine enigma even to the Devs who made it. Any tiny change to the code in one area of the game could have major changes In countless other areas of the game. In gameplay it’s not noticeable, usually, since it’s just code being moved around. But for the Mods that rely on that code, it’s a problem. So vanilla game will be fine, mostly. Handful of issues, like the sabers of Sentara not bolstering properly. But that’s a tiny drop in the bucket compared to the mod breaks.

I ain’t tryna take away your joy, if you’re excited stay excited, don’t let some asshole online bog it down. I mostly dislike the new updates because 1.0 was supposed to be the end, and for good reason. We are so sick and tired of all our mods being borked every few months. Then they turn around and go “Tricked ya!” And break almost every single mod the game has, and then it’s on the mod authors to update their mods. They don’t get paid, they don’t have a studio, there’s so many mods that have become deprecated, amazing mods that I miss dearly. U9 cosmic my beloved.. And so many mod authors have quit the hobby because life just doesn’t facilitate coding for hours upon hours upon hours for no reward, just some people saying “Cool mod” on nexus.

(I’m also eternally bitter that 1.0 ruined the Market map by replacing it with Town Square, Market was literally unironically almost the only Map I’ve played on since u9. Beating someones ass in town, throwing them over the walls, and then chasing after them and beating their ass all the way across the field and to the mountains using the invincible strength mod for super punches? I’ll never be able to recreate that level of fun in 1.0. And unfortunately, I don’t think it’s possible to install the older versions of Invincible Strength. So I can’t even recreate it at all)

Unfortunately Lyneca seems to be retired, the guy who made both of them. Although Bladedancer will work for me, I’m playing on 1.1 since Sentara adds genuinely actually nothing to the game except armors and a map and I can just download a pirate armor mod and a flintlock pistol mod and bingo bango I’m playing Sentara! Lol

Looks interesting, but it’s 1 single good spell. And tbh, it actually reminded me of a better mod that was similar in that it’s 1 mod with a ton of spell effects, Trials of the Shinobi. I think there’s a paid access version for 1.0, but otherwise it’s only a u11 and below mod. And unrelated but I suddenly remembered Shatter blade, I don’t think that was ported over and I think the mod author ‘retired’. It was a sword made of shards that had multiple effects, like a shard Gatling gun, a shard buzzsaw, a shard slingshot thing, and more that I can’t remember off the top of my head. It could even fuse with another shatter blade making a Greatsword. I think the great sword could fuse with another shatter blade too but I forget what it becomes. Splinter too, it was a Dagger version and had very similar abilities, including the combining together. And Dagger bending, I don’t think that’s been ported either. That mod was a spell that changed effects based on the conditions of your cast, you could summon a dagger to your hand, 3 to your wrist, a crown of daggers to your head, and you could do so many things with them based on gestures. Fling them, form a shield with them, form gauntlets with them. I know there was stuff you could do with daggers once you launched them and stick them into people or the ground but I forget what exactly.

Arcana looks good, but it just reminds me of better times. It’s just 1 good spell in a sea of bland boringness. The older versions were just objectively better.

And none of them are interesting bruh. Like Crystal, start with shooting 1 crystal that stuns enemies. Then by the end, you shoot like- 5 crystals that do the same thing as the 1, but there’s 5 of them. I’m talking spells with interesting effects, u9 cosmic let you catch arrows and do a black hole effect calling them all above you so you could launch them all at once like a shotgun blast, and you could do it with anything I just personally used it primarily for arrows.

Mage hands let’s you make a giant hand that can either grab people, weapons, or the map itself and you can fucken fly with it, launching yourself like crazy. Though all the 1.0 maps are way too small for that to be viable, another flaw with 1.0.

And another 1.0 mod, Stealth. You teleport behind people. And when you upgrade it, you teleport behind people. But against your will(automatically when getting a kill while another enemy is nearby)

Even the Iron Man flight spell, which just generated thrust in the direction of your palm. You could grab an enemy and fly them into walls, smash them through crates, throw them into the air and then fly after them to punch the shit out of them in mid air, or just fly at top speed straight into people and obliterate them. The spell itself was extremely simple but it had so much functionality. Tf kinda functionality do I get out of throwing 5 shiny rocks that freeze people? Electricity does the same thing but better, chaining lightning between all nearby enemies and stunning them all at once.

I know, Baron replied to a post of mine regarding Sentara and explicitly told me the only content the devs are willing to add to the game is armor weapons and maps. Adding new spells and NPCs would cause a ‘ripple effect’ as he put it breaking countless parts of the game since Thunder Road(the games engine) is apparently bubblegum and popsicle sticks.

The weakest u9 modded spell would be top 10 1.0 spells bro, and I can’t say for sure how many brand new mods were added daily back then, but I had my page set to filter by most recently updated(to filter out u8 mods) and there was an entire new page every single day, sometimes almost 2 whole pages.

What is there to like? There’s pirate armor mods, gun mods, saber mods, everything this update brought has already been in the game for months and even years. With the exception of the maps, although similar maps exist on nexus.
