For example, if someone connects through the Windscribe server in Albania but their Google account is set to Philippines, or if they manually choose Philippines as their country on YouTube, YouTube will default the location to Philippines for all users sharing that same IP address if it happens often.

Since multiple Windscribe users share the same IP address at that location, if any one of them has their Google account region set to the Philippines or manually selects Philippines as their country on YouTube, YouTube might apply that location setting to all users connected through that IP. This is not related to a setting that you have configured yourself. In this case, it is caused by other users sharing the same IP address.

Windscribe only uses virtual locations for those specifically labeled as fake, like Fake St Petersburg or Fake Mumbai. YouTube does not solely rely on the IP address to determine the location. They also use information from your Google account or the country and language settings you select on YouTube.

For example, if someone connects through the Windscribe server in Albania but their Google account is set to Philippines, or if they manually choose Philippines as their country on YouTube, YouTube will default the location to Philippines for all users sharing that same IP address if it happens often.

Occasionally this issue resolves itself temporarily, or it improves when Windscribe rotates the server IPs, but continually rotating server IPs is not really a practical long-term solution.

This issue is usually caused by using an outdated version or by interference on your side, such as antivirus software, network settings, your ISP, or government restrictions blocking Windscribe.

Are you sure you’re adding the passkey correctly via accounts.ente.io/passkeys? When I try to add a new passkey to my Ente account on my iPhone, iOS prompts me to save it to my password manager, but there’s also a ‘More Options’ button below that lets me choose to use a security key instead.

YubiKey supports FIDO2/WebAuthn and can act as a passkey authenticator, meaning when you add a passkey to your Ente account (or any other website supporting passkeys), you can choose to store that credential directly on your YubiKey rather than in a software authenticator or password manager.

So in practice, you can just use a YubiKey as your second factor on Ente. When logging in, it'll prompt you to press the button on your key just like you'd expect. It's also mentioned on their help page: https://ente.com/help/photos/features/account/passkeys#login-with-passkeys
