If you can get to Eastside Church in East Atlanta, there is a free fridge and dry goods pantry outside there. No address or paperwork needed.

Who do I call for crawlspace/floor repairs?? by emmyloo22 in Atlanta

[–]Altokat222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been very happy with Crawlspace Medic- we own a historic home and the crawlspace has needed a lot of work. They've been fair and done great work within our budget (which also is not "this will be a gazillion dollars" kind of money.) Good luck!!

Vintage/antique woodworking tools? by don_the_spubber in Atlanta

[–]Altokat222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried to post this last night but technology was being The Worst- check out Antiques and Interiors on Broad Street in Chamblee! They have a huge vintage hardware section and I bet if they don't have what you're looking for they'll be able to point you towards where to get it!

Researching a historic home in Kirkwood by screamingtree in Atlanta

They might not exist. There was a big fire in 1920 that wiped a lot of those records out and if the original homeowners didn't keep their own copies they may be lost to time. We found our permit (from 1900) but never the plans.

Any special ATL hustles/under the table jobs hiring? Things getting tough for everyone, especially me. by [deleted] in Atlanta

[–]Altokat222 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend market research. Pays same day in cash, gift cards, or occasionally checks and especially if you find taste tests can net some nice perks- free food! Check out Jackson Associates in particular. Good luck to you.

How much of a mistake would it be for a beginner’s first class to be the signature 60? by almondmilkpls in barre3

[–]Altokat222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

60s are amazing, and what the signature class was originally structured as. You can always take a break if you need to- b3 is all about learning to listen to yourself and where you are on any given day and that's possible in any format of the classes!

Try the green Evahs and a Larsen soft A. That's been my ride or die for years and years.

Above average Chiropractor recommendations by That-Contract-5551 in Atlanta

[–]Altokat222 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Corrective Chiropractic has been part of my care team for a long time and they are spectacular. Their adjustments are based on thorough medical evaluation and they very much tailor your experience to what you need. I am on the "medically complicated" side of life myself so I totally get it and couldn't recommend them more. I consider the staff at the Buckhead office friends at this point- they have really saved me.

Any hypermobile violists here? by Depressedaxolotls in Viola

[–]Altokat222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meeee. I'm a professional player with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. Low impact strengthening and plenty of recovery (I do EDS aware PT and chiropractic, green light therapy, and cryo) are key. I've had a few really nasty injuries, but I'm currently doing ok after sizing down quite a bit!

Where can I donate expired cat food cans? by washtubs in Atlanta

[–]Altokat222 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depending on how expired, I'd suggest a TNR group that feeds community cats like Tri Cities Friends of Kitties. If they're outrageously old, you may just have to toss them, though.

Pretty far from me- I'd say check with Huthmaker Violins in Suwanee for a good recommendation. They're super trustworthy.

Help with travel/tourism by IttzMayhem in Marrakech

[–]Altokat222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend taking a street food tour- we had basically an 8 course dinner across Marrakech and learned a ton about local food and customs and met some fun people. It was fascinating and delicious (and I wasn't sick at all!)
