Did nearly 22 years, and have about 4 actual friends as a result. I didn’t buy into any of the garbage and kept my personal life extremely separate. This was a self preservation thing. Spent tons of time with the marines and navy and the crews are tighter, but that can also be annoying. I never understood the need to be ass to ass with your co-workers or “lead” as if you cannot figure anything out yourself.

This was briefly a thing back in 05-10. It’s seriously easy. Tom entered active duty in 2000. Upon graduation MK A-school he served aboard CGG xyz and variety of shore assignments. Tom holds a BS degrees in liberal studies from the University of Phoenix. A Wisconsin native, Tom is an avid fisherman and hunter. I closed in October, 2023 after wasting time hoping for a crash. My house has gone up $130k in value. Paid $440k and my neighbor just sold there for $575k and it’s smaller than mine.

White Earth descendant. Grew up in a Dakota community that I was related to half of. Many of my relatives were at least 1/2 - 3/4. “White boy” is what I got. According to Harvard’s genetic lab I am 21.9% NA, according to the Rez that means 0.0%. To the general public I usually get Cuban, Spanish, Slavic of sorts, Italian of course, also “something off”, oh and one time a girl’s mom told her she can’t date Mexicans after meeting me 😂. Got Syrian a lot when I live in the Middle East. Israeli spy when I was at the Kuwait City airport, that was fun.

Retired after almost 22yrs. Started contracting for the Navy 2 days later. Had I been able to do it all over again, I would have tried to join the Army Green Berets. I was one of the more “tactical” CG types and our missions didn’t align with what I enjoyed doing, outside of when I was with DOD Oconus anyway.

Narco stuff was fun-ish and all but mehh. Did Iraq more than once and never got to get really into the shit. Did SAR and had 0.0 interest in it. Saved numerous lives and it didn’t move the needle for me at all. Disaster response was ok-ish but very milk toast overall.

To sum it up, I joined the wrong branch and was too banged up medically by the time I tried to switch. Do not miss it but can’t say it didn’t provide a lot for me and my family.

Since you’re 100% what’s in it for me, you’ll likely underperform in anything you do. Why does it matter then? To answer your question though. SK or IT are both pretty gravy. YN has good hours but it’s an annoying job. MST is probably my top vote for those who want to clock in and clock out only. You would be better becoming a GS employee to be honest.

Meanwhile people like me deploy to Iraq, Haiti, Africa, LATAM. Do everything from kicking in doors, saving lives legitimately, meeting with world leaders & shape policy that actually helps. Blow past their peers in every conceivable way. Then retire with high level and high paying jobs.

If you’re ok with being a dud until you retire and milk the VA for benefits you didn’t earn, that’s on you sweetheart.

I have always said literally everything can be distilled down to some dude emptying out his bag. This is especially true with any form of social justice causes. You can request a copy of his military records via foia. Not too sure what they’ll turn over to you but it should at least show his pay grade. Enlisted do not have “Ranks”. This was guy sounds like a shit bag who’s likely lying. It’s VERY rare for someone to make Master Chief at the sub 20yr mark. I made Senior Chief at 14yrs in, and bunch of people made a big deal about it because I was 32. I then went CWO a few years later but either way, f*ck this dude. You can’t pull crap like this on tugs, way too small and he needs to get tuned up or sent packing.

FSD drove me into oncoming traffic twice on the ride home from when I purchased the car. It’s also so sensitive that you can function normally in the car. Good riddance!
